DA New Pantina, at least temporarily

I went with Hugger orange single stage paint rather than safety orange. I’m two toning it using the top and bottom two tone, easier to paint rather than the middle stripe two tone. Also gonna paint the hood white with a couple sport stripes.

What have you done to your square lately??

I used 3M panel bonding adhesive around the riveted perimeter and used a tube of $12 liquid nails fuse it, almost the entire tube on the inside mating surface and both interior and exterior seams. Hopefully, that’s enough. The drivers side panel was a very tight fit. I considered welding it but...

    Scissor Jack

One could use a scissor jack on a tranny, it could work in a pinch.

What have you done to your square lately??

Long board sanded the box in between da sanding the fender to allow the compressor to cool. Paint on fender won’t scrape off like the box paint did so it’s gonna take more time. I also have some rust to repair so I likely will remove the front clip at some point for body work and paint.

What have you done to your square lately??

Squirted epoxy primer on the box, still needs a ton of sanding and prep work with the high build and spot putty, trying to get orange on before it gets too hot outside.

Excellent installation. Do you get any kind of diesel fumes from the fuel or combustion process?

Take the plug out of the exhaust (silencer) and it will roar to life. It’s probably plugged and causing it to run pig rich.

    Adhesive Rear Cab Molding?

I’m planning to drill the holes for the side molding and then use the 3m thick two way adhesive for the long trim piece for cab rear.

What have you done to your square lately??

Scraped more paint off the box side, mostly without the heat. It came off pretty easily except the areas that are still yellow. Gonna hit those with the heat gun tomorrow when the metal is a little colder to see if it lifts easier. This is a huge time saver. I’ll probably attack the fenders soon...

DA New Pantina, at least temporarily

I despise sanding, already had to replace the compressor electric motor. I decided to try the harbor freight heat gun. Not sure if it’s because of the solar eclipse, the air temp, luck or all three but the 5 extra layers for the most part is scraping off fairly clean with some heat AND it’s so...

What have you done to your square lately??

Still sanding on the box, the thick enamel paint clogs the DA 80 grit paper too quickly. I mostly have the left side completed. Now to the right side, think I’m gonna try the mud hog with 40 grit to see if I can knock that enamel layer off quicker. I now have a much better understanding of how...

    Air Storage Tank Alternatives

Actually, I was incorrect; that’s what happens when you let the old dog out at 2 am and post. It’s a M12 inflator which I purchased to do quick small air ups for low tires around the house and I bring with me on road trips. Here are the specs. The reviews aren’t the greatest for large tires. I...

    Air Storage Tank Alternatives

I’ve had one since the mid 80s, rarely use it or should write that I haven’t used it since I stopped motocross racing. I used to bring it to the races to fix a flat, if needed. I recently purchased a M18 Milwaukee inflator so I doubt I will ever use it now. It was great back in the day.

    Diesel heater installation

Mounting an external heat source near the fuel tank and fill location is dangerous in my opinion; I would consider some extra safe guards to eliminate a potential accident if I decided the risk is worth the reward. In my opinion, money would be better spent purchasing a small portable generator...
