np203/np205 swap crossmembers

I was needing a sm465 for my '74 K20 and found one that came with a np205. Had a bit of a time to find a slip yoke as the unit was from an '81, but everything else was fine until I tried to put in the crossmember. My crossmember has mount holes 7 1/2" apart, the 465/205 adapter has them 6"...
