I have been meaning to build some cribs/cribbing. Definitely safer as you're not relying on jack stands.

Transmission grinds going into L or R

If adjusting the clutch doesn't help, replace the clutch. Unsynchronized gears always grind a little bit. But if they grind and you can't get them into gear, the clutch isn't disengaging enough for the input shaft to slow down. If you replace the clutch, get the complete clutch kit that comes...

    81 turn signal lens

It's a tight fit. You may have to compare the gusseting of the plastic housing on the originals to the replacements. On one of mine I had to trim some of the gusseting off the new one because it wouldn't go in the opening. They are a pain to get in there, but once you find the angle of attack...

    SFV mechanic rec's

I am not any help, I work on my own because I don't trust anyone to do the work, and I go the extra mile. @BRetty lives in that area and he has a truck in a shop for a simple engine swap and it's been weeks or months since he dropped it off for a one to two day tops job.

I agree. There are tons of things we can add or change to make these old vehicles run way cleaner, but the powers that be say no because they didn't come from the factory like that. I forget which member, but I think he was in Colorado, and the sniffer test showed phenomenal numbers for the...

@legend57 If I ever want to spend a couple grand I will be getting one of these, it should make running the engine with vortec heads in the wintertime a lot better, as the carburetor with vortecs in cold weather doesn't work well.

Are you referring to this one? It says 50 state compliant. https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/fuel_injection/atomic_efi/atomic_efi_tbi/parts/2900 On Page 12 of the instructions it covers it if there is smog/air pump installed...

If you have the factory air cleaner, just follow the emissions sticker diagram. If not, there are a lot of emissions sticker pics in the library on the forum. Maybe there is one that is like yours. That, and plenty of members that can help here too.

That's the problem, it'll instantly fail with anything added that wasn't on it when it rolled off the assembly line. Yes, adding a cat will make it run cleaner, but it won't help it pass, instead it'll cause it fail visual. Stupid, but true. For his truck to pass, he needs a compliant...
