Power steering fluid .. what type ?

I now generally use an ISO 32 hydraulic oil in all my power steering compartments across all my vehicles I own. Used to use Dex3 ATF but the hydraulic oil is cheaper here

86 BIG BLOCK C10 upper radiator hose collapsing. Why?? Video inside.

I'd pull the thermostat and check that its opening correctly. No really normal to get a low pressure area there so I'd say either a stuffed thermostat or maybe your upper hose has just gone soft and is collapsing under the slightest hint of low pressure

What size press (12 or 20 ton) for automotive

While its probably rare that you'd need the extra capacity, as others have said the bigger frame size can come in handy. I've got a 12t press in my shed and I've never maxed it out for capacity, but I have run out of physical room to put some things in it

Options for tuning of Gen1 TBI in 2023

I've looked into options also. Dynamic EFI looks to be my pick, reasonable price and would do the job easily for mild performance gains I would think. https://www.dynamicefi.com/ Harris chips, from what I've read maybe not as easy to change tunes. I'm sure some one out there has used them...

    Pissing match

Thanks for that link to the genssi units. I reckon they could be made to look alright on the 89-91 burbs. I might try and give them a go on mine as I do need to replace a couple of my lights anyway

    89-91 LMC headlight upgrade

You are right, ideally the headlights will need to be for a RHD, which does complicate things somewhat. I did read on one of our local Facebook pages that someone had used 80 series landcruiser headlight buckets (the quad headlight not the single lx450/sahara one piece unit).I'll probably look...

    89-91 LMC headlight upgrade

Ah bugger, was hoping they where going to be H4. That would have made it too easy for my as my outers are H4 already. Inners I can deal with what ever bulb is there but it would have been nice for a twin filament bulb for the outer lights

    89-91 LMC headlight upgrade

That would cool if they just have the H4s. I'll wait to see what Ellie Niner or 77 K20 say. My lenses are getting a little past their use by and I've been tossing up weather to do some extra work and replace the 92x150mm lenses with the more common 4x6" lenses - but obviously to do that will...

    Wipers barley working

I just purchased through an online store - adwipers.com.au. Blades through this lot are all branded as their own - Adwipers 15" frameless blade https://adwipers.com.au/15-aerodynamic-wiper-blade-front-windscreen-375mm/ And ordered adaptors to suit the side pin wiper arm as that one is not...

    Wipers barley working

Well, new wiper blades arrived and they made a noticeable difference. Don't stop when the screen is dry or wet now so that's a start. I'm going to run them this winter and see how it goes and if I still have issues then I'll look at getting a lighter spring in the arms

    Wipers barley working

Ive also put in a new wiper motor a few years ago - that made no difference at the time and its only now Im starting to revisit the issue. My wipers jus had the conventional claw type blades which are 16". Im swapping it over to beam type blades in the hope that the structure is a bit more...

    Wipers barley working

I've been chasing a slow (mostly slowing to a stop) wiper issue on my suburban lately. Went through all the electrical side with no luck. Linkages are free as anything with no blade arms attached, but with the wipers on the resistance of the wiper on the screen is massive. I'm swapping to a...

    windshield wiper return issue

Ok, so Ive been playing around with this issue over the last 3 or 4 days and I believe Ive found my issue. Even with a direct cable to the motor from the battery the wipers still struggle, even on a wet windscreen. Mechanically the linkages are very free and require very little effort to move...

    windshield wiper return issue

Need a bit of a thread dig on my own thread here. So I haven't really looked into this issue much since 2018, but for us here in Australia winter is on its way so I'd like to sort this issue before then. Whats changed since I last posted is a new pulse module and new wiper motor. Both of those...

Wanted Suburban 3rd row seat parts - Australia

Hey all, the third row seat in my burb is not the same colour as the rest of the trim. As squarebodys are kinda rare in Australia finding a replacement in the right trim colour will be next to impossible. So my next best option will be to retrim it and paint the metal parts that are brown. I was...

What have you done to your square lately??

My Suburban is now driving nice and straight thanks to a change out of pitman arm, idler arm and tie rod ends, plus new front calipers has helped under brakes. Its always pulled slightly to one side under light brakes but straightened up once heavy pressure was applied. Turns out a stick caliper...
