    the one on the left doesnt have much room for the seal to ride on you might have to accomodate for it by tapping the seal in further otherwise that seal wont last a week.

    Ditto ... I use wire wheel but forget the self etching primer and put some "chassis saver" gloss black on... the stuff is incredible its super tough like an epoxy it brushes on no primer needed And IMO its up there with powder coating its a little pricey but worth every penny it adheres to...

    the reason I ask question # 1 is I just bought a 14bff and upon visual inspection it appears an open carrier however when I spin the pinion they both turn in the same direction and when i spin one wheel the other doesnt spin Im aways away from finalizing instalation so I havent driven on it yet.

    When I installed moog, in the same truck 15 or more years ago I had no problems at all and they still were in not to bad shape a little slop in the top joint on both sides so an upgrade was in order, .... of course it wasnt a daily driver more for rv and ocasional work purposes..... problem...
