    Not sure if this was mentioned but when I pain ed my needles I cut a slit in some waxed paper and slid it under the needles. Luckily I only had to dust the guage faces

    Re-badging my Square

    I just brazed in the badging holes on mine. I'll use the 3 m tape if I decide to have any badges after painting.I dealt with so much rust on this truck and I just want to minimize any chances of going through that again.

    Welcome! Lots of help here on the board. Great idea, that father -son project. It worked for me and mine many moons ago,these days we need to do all we can to keep our kids grounded. There's a lot of **** out there for kids to get into.

    Headers vs corvette manifolds

    Time for new headers. I used 63-66 corvette manifold on my 71 and 72. Will they work on my 79 square body, 350 with nv4500 and hydraulic clutch! Thanks in advance for any thoughts

    Transmission opinions?

    Here's my two cents: I like the 700r4, had one built behind a 383 stroker with 460 HP in a c10 and never had a problem. That NV4500 is the earlier version so it will have a lower ( numerically higher) first gear. Rock crawler, trail rig guys would really like to have and theyre getting scarce...

    You can also do this yourself. Put your knees under the steering wheel and push up, then hit center bolt as described.

    Ryobi 1/2" impact

    Like you, I didn't want to buy another charger and diff batteries. I already had Dewalt 18 volt stuff. I got a 1/2 in Dewalt impact. It doesn't break everything loose, but if I try to run the nut forward for a second, then in reverse it does ok most times. But as Leg mentioned, I carry a 1"...

    The 63-66 corvette manifolds work nice. I had a set on my 72 GMC. I think you need two lefts (?)
