    Seat recovering

The LMC seat cover is awesome, looks just like original. Seat was saggy in the left front corner and I found the frame had broken and would bend down and a little welding fix that up.

    Hanging I-Beam from ceiling joists

I laid a 4x4 across 8ft of rafters and put a chain hanging from the middle. Had no issues lifting the box off and putting back on by my self. Remember to brace the tailgate opening so as to not allow the sides to bend in.

    Door gap

l bought two doors from GM many years ago when they were cleaning out their warehouse stock. GM doors and the fit is a give and take, line up the bottom and the side nice and the top is off. I found that the door to rocker, door to fender and door to cab back have to line up to look good and the...

    Mirror correct for ‘81?

If you want to really see behind you get so of the mirrors they put on some Ram trucks, they stick out about 2’ on each side. I have never sat in one but I think you might be able to read the rear license plate hahaha they are ugly.

    Question about headers

When my truck was new I would get as low as 7 mpg pulling a race car trailer and after installing headers, distributor recurve and riching up the secondary it went up to 13 mpg and pulling power up hills was much improved. For me it was well worth it due to fuel savings. 350cid 350C TH

The guy in the other lane cuts a perfect light on you!!! Here the system goes to 4 digit’s and I lost a race with a .0007 breakout. So I know how you feel sucks to lose.

    74 c10 5/7 Drop-Will It Rub??

How often do you tag your lower control arms on pavement heaves or raised manhole covers. Looks like from Georgia so maybe smooth road there. Here that is boarder line too low unless your on air.

    Adding 81-82 bumper fog lights

The proper way to wire in the fog light relay is to hook the control wire to the low beam circuit. That then cuts out the fog lights when you go to high beams. If you are wanting to just use them as running lights you can switch the relay and use ignition power to the switch Then you control...

    Beauty rings questions

Back in the day I would come out of the house in the morning and see I was missing 4 stock beauty rings and after a couple of times I pulled my wheels and used stainless steel wire and in four places looped the wire through wheel holes and the beauty ring mount tabs. You hardly even see the...

    Door panel resto- backyard style

My original panel and it had turned to a shade of purple. Duplex interior paint in a rattle can just happened to match the original color. Very happy with the way it turned out.

Anyone used the old ash tray for something (else) that's interesting?

I needed a location for my shift light controller that I could see and reach but didn’t want to put holes in the dash so had my brother make this mount on a 3D printer that clamps in the ashtray hole and mounts the controller allowing some adjustment. Works well.

    Improve 1/8 mile et

What are your 60’ times. Being on the high end of a bracket is not always a bad thing unless it is heads up racing. You leave first and the other guy has to wait and that wait can mess with people and they can red light or cut a slow light.

Clearance issues with lowering spindles and what you did about it…

I went with 17x8 wheels front and 17x9 wheels on the rear. Before that I kept moving wheel weight or knocking them off with the stock 8” wheels. Liked the stock wheels but like the lowered look better.

    Long tube headers/dual exhaust question

I was experiencing horrible drone at 30 mph so installed the crossover. Mellowed just enough to kill the drone and enjoy cruising around town. I made it so it will come apart so one side or the other can be removed without fighting with both.

    Anybody recognize these seats?

Many years ago I replaced my stock seat with an aftermarket that had the fold down center. That seat was like sitting in your Grama‘s living-room couch so comfortable but when time for a restore of the interior I had to go back to the original and get out of the 80’s to go back to the 80’s lol

    18 or 20" wheels?

What about some 26” or 28” or whatever they are? Expensive wagon wheels in my old school opinion.
