    Front drive shaft help

I headed under the truck to try and once again get my fuel gauge to work and found the front drive shaft to be wet on the transfer case end and a small puddle under it. I have not been running in 4WD for weeks and this has only started within the past few days. The truck is a learning project...

    Newbie welding

Thanks for all the feedback. I’ve started looking at used machines to get a higher quality as suggested yet stay on budget. I am hesitant as I don’t know what to watch out for as far as issues they may have. Are there any red flags I need to watch out for?

    Newbie welding

Well, I can’t put it off anymore...it’s time to get into sheet metal work. I’ve got the floor pans and tailgate posts and now I need the tool and the skill. I’m looking to pull the trigger on a MIG welder and I’m looking at models where all I need to do is select the metal thickeness, anything...

Adding mufflers - need to adjust timing and dwell?

It's that time of year when I get on the road and do a lot of hauling between pastures. The K10 I bought came with a straight pipe set up, on the property going 5mph its been fine but on the road it is beyond obnoxious. The truck runs great, if I cut the pipes and put in mufflers will I have to...

    Battery choice?

thanks for the feedback everyone. I am going to look into AGM batteries and the tenders mentioned. Would I still need a tender if I plan on putting in a disconnect switch?

    Battery choice?

Morning all, Curious the battery selection y'all have had luck with for those rigs that tend to sit for a while. This time of year when I'm stocked on feed and the grass is growing I don't drive the truck much. My problem is that he battery will be dead after the truck sits for two weeks...

    HD suspension option

When I was looking for a square the only difference I noticed with trucks with HD suspension was an extra leaf up front. Big block or plow set up?

    Rear license plate lights

Went to do this last night and the trucks dead. Two weeks without starting and reading almost no juice out of the battery. Once I get a new battery and install a disconnect I will get back to the rear lights.

    Rear license plate lights

Need some help. My project had a rotted rear bumper that I have replaced but I didn't notice till replacing it that the rear wiring harness was just zip tied up to the frame of the truck with nothing connected. The Haynes manual says the license plate lights should be brown/black wires but I've...

    Dreaming of a firm....brake pedal.

I've got the front done and put back together. Booster, master, rotors, calipers, pads all new but hubs were in good shape so put those back together and they seem to be working fine. This was my first go with manual hubs so I'm counting it as a win that I don't hear any odd noises and they are...

Driveway leaf springs and shock replacement or pay $600?

Alright, so who has done a self install of leafs and shocks in their driveway? How'd it go? I'm about done with a full break job on the truck and was thinking about trying to tackle a 2'' suspension lift before bleeding the brakes. After calling around to a few shops the best price I was quoted...

2in GM Suspension Lift System (52in Rear Springs) - SKU 235.2

I looked at the Tuff Country kits but its cost prohibitive for my project. Mine is a farm truck / Uharrie wheeler seeing about 50 miles on the road per week. At double the cost of Rough Country I just can't justify it for better ride quality. I will look into ORDs today, I'm not familiar with them.

    Dreaming of a firm....brake pedal.

Did you replace the hose from the frame to the caliper? I thought I had a firm grip on the inside but didn't and busted the hard line. Now I need to run new from the master but still cant get the dang connection apart where the hard and soft lines meet at the frame!? Any advice?

    New here / need help

My 79' has a newly rebuilt th350 in it. The gentleman I bought it from had your similar problem only it happened to him in 1st gear. The truck had sat for a long time while he was rebuilding the engine allowing the tranny seals to rot. Once he drove it the hard/rotten old seals and fluid were...

    Dreaming of a firm....brake pedal.

Did you replace your booster while you were at it? I don’t hear any odd noises or anything but if I’m doing everything else I figure I might as well replace it and have a whole new system.

    Dreaming of a firm....brake pedal.

Thanks for the insight. I didn’t know that was an issue and now will definitely pick up the new hoses. Shoot I think I only have one size flare wrench from a plumbing project. Smart money says I won’t get lucky and will have to go buy more.

    Dreaming of a firm....brake pedal.

I've got a NAPA close by that I can check out and price shop. It looks like one of the previous owners didn't put on new hoses when they lifted the truck. Not sure how I feel about replacing them with new stock length hoses.
