    Tach conversion kits

After reading many threads and watching videos on retrofitting new gauges into factor bezel, I opted to go the Intellitronix route too. The gauges mount into factory holes in the bezel. Easy retrofit. No more flimsy circuit panel either and twist in bulbs. I always get positive comments on them.

    Brake Lines Copper or Steel

+1 for Ni-COP - easy to bend and flare. I was total NOOB at flaring and did my entire truck without an issue. Watched a Youtube video and I was off and running.

    preformed brake lines

Another option is to buy the nickel/copper tubing off Amazon or your favorite store and make your own. It bends easy and shouldn't rust. Cheaper and way easier to work with compared to stainless lines. I bought a flaring tool and it worked great. This was my first time doing this and would...

What is everyone's go to for converting rusty frames nice looking frames

I used POR15 cab back. Learned the hard way though. If you paint any bolt threads with POR 15, you're gonna have a really hard time removing them later on. Cab forward and under cab I did Corroseal to prevent this. On a lumber rack, I refinished, I used Eastwoods paint over rust. It was...

    Gauge question

I was having issues finding a temp sensor that worked with Vortec engine and factory gauge. Considered aftermarket gauges but cost was high and retrofit looked like a PIA. Ended up buying Intellitronix digital gauge set on sale for $200. Has 5" tach where old gas gauge was and the new circuit...

    350 Vortec headers

I have the Vortec engine in my truck too. Temporarily used the stock exhaust manifolds from original engine until purchased headers. I went with the cheap Jegs $99 headers on sale. Two cans of paint stripper and temp paint came off easily. Repainted with exhaust paint. Fitment was great and...

Anybody use these low tension hood springs?

After getting a slight bend in my brand new hood using new hinges and springs, I ordered a pair of low tension springs from Jegs. They work great and there is still plenty of tension to hold the hood up. I only wish I had put the low tension springs on the same time I replaced the hood.

How much should new exhaust cost??

Just did mine: Jegs Headers $109.99 (on sale) (temp paint stripped and repainted with high-temp exhaust paint - was much easier than I thought it would be) summit racing dynomax pipes $144 https://www.summitracing.com/parts/WLK-89007 AP Xlerator stainless mufflers $65.98 ($32.99 each)...

86 Sierra Classic. Bad Block... Now what?

I just installed an L31 engine (12530283) over the past few weekends. Got it finished this past weekend. Don't have any drive time yet. I'm a newbe at this so it took a while as I took my time and asked lots of questions. Main reasons I went with a crate, I'm not a mechanic and don't have...
