Throttle Position Sensor Voltage
Yes, maybe but frankly if I take it off, it's getting replaced. I did not notice any dead spots at all. I assume that yes, my throttle linkage is functioning properly. OK great. 87 R20 5.7L Dying when Idling
The missing hoses (two ports at the pump and one on the air cleaner) in the last photo are for emissions. AKA smog pump. I would not worry about that at this point, nor the plastic intake hose, nor the pre heater hose that runs from the exhaust manifold up to the air cleaner. I would drive it...- Ol Blue 2018

New temperature gauge reading low
I am pretty sure different gauges require different sending units. For example if you plug an aftermarket gauge into the original sending unit, it will not be accurate. Also, the aftermarket gauge most likely requires a 12v power source in addition to the signal wire.- Ol Blue 2018

@hatzie Thank you for your input. Im going to dig into the paperwork for the 1999 engine. I wonder if the 87 sender is not approprite in this case. Edit: either way, im in the ballpark and may be splitting hairs. Just want optimal conditions. Thanks again- Ol Blue 2018
