    Spray vs Plastic Bedliner

Did he use the six quart kit? Was it plenty for a long bed?

    Gelled fuel or bad pump?

I finally got it going, not sure what the problem was, but a new filter and a warm day, and it started. There was a little bit of moisture in the filter, maybe that was the problem? It doesn't have the original box type filter, I was having trouble with it s changed to a spin on, which doesn't...

    Gelled fuel or bad pump?

No electric pump, unless there was a stock one in the tank. I'll try the wire to the injector pump, forgot about that, but it still should have pushed fuel out of the filter. Maybe I'll pull the filter again and bring it inside to warm up. The fuel in it was liquid when I checked it but it is...

    Gelled fuel or bad pump?

Joe, thanks for tne reply. I usually run what I think is #1 diesel without additives (whatever is in the pumps on the regular automotive side, not the truck side, which I think is #2). The local stations usually switch to winter blend in the fall, depending on the weather, but our weatber has...

    Gelled fuel or bad pump?

Thursday I was getting ready to put the plow on the CUCV in anticipation of the snow that was coming. Started it up, moved it to where the plow is, and let it idle for a minute while I moved my other truck, and it died, like someone shut the key off. It was in the teens, thought it had winter...

    New tires and painted rims!

Looking good. How are the tires in the snow? I need to replace mine soon and need something better for the snow and back roads than the highway tread on it now.

    New from Northern Colorado

I might have one, can't remember if its pass or driver side. I won't be able to check for a couple of days until I get back over to my workshop. I vet down to Denver and the Springs pretty often.

What have you done to your square lately??

Guess I’ll join the swap your radiator club. Last winter when it got down to -20 degrees the radiator in my CUCV froze and split. I pulled it out and soldered it, and thought it was good, but it started leaking again this spring. Never one to do anything when it’s easy, I waited until this...

Yeah, I signed up this morning, waiting to be approved. Just what I need, another site to distract me from things that I should be doing:rolleyes:

What the He!! was I thinking?

Thanks @DoubleDingo, looks like a good writeup, guess I'll have to register on stovebolt so I can see the pics. I have a P20 chasis that I plan to use for my truck, so a lot of what he did for his build should be helpful for me. I also have a one ton dually chasis that I may pull the one ton...

1976 Chevrolet K5 Blazer Great Prices All Around - $10,000 (sioux falls / SE SD)

I'm pretty sure that one sold in Sturgis at auction a month or so ago. I looked at it, but decided I had too many projects. Brought about half of what they are asking if I remember right. Definatly rough, but it could be saved. Rust in the usual places, back door was caulked shut.

What the He!! was I thinking?

It was an online auction. A few years ago there was a running 50's Ford COE wrecker at a live auction a few hours north of me, thought about going but decided it would be a waste of time. Later I found out that it sold real cheap (around $2000 or so). I thought about driving down and...

What the He!! was I thinking?

Don’t need that to get the juices flowing, been dreaming about one of these for years. I love ugly trucks, last one was a Mercedes Unimog MB4/94. I like the four doors, but that’s beyond my skill set. Thinking of a pickup type bed or wrecker type bed (without the booms).

What the He!! was I thinking?

No, not a poker player. I was just in Deadwood today looking at a squarebody bed, but it was too rough for what I want it for. If you win big, I’ll sell it to you and you can haul it home!

Well I made it back without any major issues, Damm that beast is heavy! I found a bed for my 80 for sale in Colorado so decided to try to pick it up while in the neighborhood , priced right and supposed to be rust free. It wasn’t, so I drove a couple hundred extra miles for nothing...

    Nasty parasitic draw from plow

If it's a Meyers plow, it can also burn out the selonoid if left in the down position (I've mistakenly burned out several over the years). The plow uses power to open the valve and closes it when power is removed. It really sucks to have the selonoid go out in the down position when you are...

What the He!! was I thinking?

Thats pretty much what I thought about the one I have. I didn’t plan to make a rod out of the Bus, but a food truck. Figured I would use the Dodge running gear until it crapped out, the upgrade it to a small block Chevy.

What the He!! was I thinking?

I bought an old motor home years ago to go under a 39 Ford school bus that I have. The wheelbase is the same as the bus, but unfortunately it is a Dodge running gear. Actually passed up another one last year for free, but it was also a Dodge, would have grabbed it if it was Chevy powered.

What the He!! was I thinking?

Well  The Square or the COE? I gave $1034 (including buyers premium) for the COE, the other two brought around $1500-$1600 each. The square I was bidding on brought around $800, I got out about $575. Squares were bringing decent money, a nice C30 dually with a flatbed only brought...

What the He!! was I thinking?

Was watching an online auction that had a bunch of square body parts trucks yesterday, hoping to get a decent box for my 80. Always wanted a COE, and there were 3 on this sale, so I was watching them too, just for grins. The first two went for a lot less than I expected so I started bidding on...
