    Warp Repair

I had my cab soda blasted. The body was pretty much free of rust except the roof. It looks like the blaster may have spent too much time in one spot and warped it. I sure could use some suggestions on removing this dent. Novice at body but learning; however, since the truck is going to be...

    Cowl Seal ID

Does anyone know of a vendor for cowl seals? I haven't been able to find one.

Where's your line? ("Too much rust")

I started my project thinking I'd fix rust but soon realized that if the project is going to be done in a timely manner, it is far quicker to buy solid used or new body parts. It all depends on one's skills and completion time frame.

    Camshaft Install/Rocker Adjustment How-To?

Before installing the new hydraulic lifters let them soak submerged in oil for a couple hours. After they have soaked for awhile, and while in the oil, stand them up and push down on them with a push rod. If there is little give, they are ready to install. The following is from the GM manual...

    DIY paint??

I worked as an auto tech for 45 years and never painted a car--going to give it a shot, though. No pain no gain. I've been watching youtube stuff, talked to diy painters as well as pros and am confident I can get it done. If you have enough sense to build a house, you can figure out how to...

    Kentucky to Colorado

I don't recall the need to change the timing that drastically. Start with the jetting and if necessary, adjust the timing conservatively.

    Kentucky to Colorado

When we moved to Colorado I soon got into Jeeping. My Wagoneer had a Buick 350 with a Quadrajet carb. I don't recall having a lot of trouble with Engineer Pass, but I really had to make a run at the top portion of Imogene Pass (13114'). To solve the problem I leaned the carb during the...

    Engine for offroading

What's your budget, tire size and gear ratio? For the type of wheeling you want to do wheel speed is king. If you don't want to spend a lot of money, start off with the 292 and see how it works. However, don't spend a bunch of money on the 292, cause you'll most likely be moving up to a V8.

    350 Tbi running bad

Based on the first video, it sounds like it's back firing through the intake. Check the distributor cap and rotor for carbon tracking. Is the engine making a ticking noise? Could be a burned valve or rounded cam lobe. It doesn't sound like a fuel problem, but it wouldn't hurt to check the...

    3.08s and 33s

Your crawl ratio is around 40:1-52:1 (not sure which transfer case you have). Generally, rockcrawlers with a standard trans shoot for 100:1. My rock buggy with an auto was 55:1 crawl ratio and 39" tires and worked well for Western rockcrawling. Not sure the ideal for mudding, but it seems...

    700r4 Issues

It will be interesting to learn what went wrong with your present trans. Not arguing against a 4L80E at all but if you stay with the 700r4, you might want to look at to look at Monster Transmissions, GearStar, or Bowtie, also.

    700r4 Issues

The pump/torque converter bushings are known to work loose and move into the front seal on 700r4’s, resulting in a massive fluid leak. Or the trans may have overheated and puked fluid out the vent. Any knowledgeable builder would know how to upgrade your trans to 4l65e specs. If your trans...
