Won't start, no gas in filter

Hopefully it's finally solved. I got a new pump ($20 at advanced auto) and noticed that the new pump has a spring under the lever. The old one has a spring but it's up inside the pump, as in I think it broke or got pushed up inside or something. The lever on the old one would not operate. I...

Won't start, no gas in filter

Well it runs all day as long as you keep shooting starter fluid in the carb. So hopefully it's the pump and not the sending unit.

Won't start, no gas in filter

I got a new battery and still no gas. Filter is dirty but not clogged. I took all the hoses and the pump off, nothing looked out of the ordinary. When you take the pump off, and then put it back on, do you have to start it with start fluid and keep spraying fluid for a while to give the pump...

Won't start, no gas in filter

First of all, turn your caps lock off. Second, I put gas in it with the same result. Learn some etiquette.

Won't start, no gas in filter

Yup, that's what the PO replaced. It looks brand new. Maybe some gunk from the fuel tank is in it and clogged it or something?

Won't start, no gas in filter

It sat for a year, about a year ago. But I've had it for 2 months and have went out and started it and let it run for about 10 minutes at least once a week since. This is the first time it hasn't started.

Won't start, no gas in filter

Long story short I'm thinking about selling/trading the truck for a shortbed. Went out to start it and do a video and wouldn't start. My battery died (it's 7 years old). Jumped it and still won't start. It took a while to even get it to get enough juice to attempt a start. I noticed there's...

    Help with carb and choke

I did a quick google and it looks like I'm missing a linkage between the 2 parts on the passenger side too? Can I buy just that piece?

    Help with carb and choke

Where should the 12v be coming from and where does it plug into the carb? I know next to nothing about carbs.

    Help with carb and choke

My new to me 78 K20 is hard to start. It takes several gas pumps before it finally will start. PO said there is a manual choke cable but it's not hooked up. Sure enough it's not. Can you experts take a look at my pics and guide me on what I need to do to get it working correctly? Look a like...

How do I remove this lift kit? 78 K20

Thanks for the info guys. I've never done any kind of body work so this is all going to be a learning experience. My cab floor isn't in perfect shape so I don't mind the holes if that'll help the process. Hopefully in a week or so I'll have my shop cleaned out enough to get the truck in there...

How do I remove this lift kit? 78 K20

Just got my truck 2 days ago and I would like to remove the lift kit. Eventually it'll be a frame-off restoration but just trying to do a few things at a time for now so that I can keep driving it. I know absolutely nothing about lift kits.

Is this a good deal? 79 GMC K10 Step Side

OK So here's the update. After reading all of your insights I kind of backed off on the 79 GMC. I would probably still buy it for a better price but decided to keep looking. The 78 Chevy that popped up last week, I almost bought on Sunday but the guy dorked around and ended up wanting to make...

Is this a good deal? 79 GMC K10 Step Side

Would the step side bed be worth anything? It's got some rust spots looks like but in overall good shape. I would probably swap out for a regular bed. Do you know how much I could get for those pieces if I sold them?

Is this a good deal? 79 GMC K10 Step Side

Thanks guys. Probably have to wait til next week to do it. Tonight and tomorrow our schedules don't match up and it's just far enough away that I don't want to run up there too many times unless I'm ready to possibly pull the trigger when I do.

Is this a good deal? 79 GMC K10 Step Side

Do you guys see any issue with any of the rust in those pics? Obviously it needs a new hood but all the frame stuff?

And..... naturally.... as I'm knee-deep in conversation/negotiation with this guy, another truck popped up on facebook. Same truck but fleetside and it's a 78 (the year I REALLY want). Still waiting on more pics from this new one. Looks like no decision will be made today.

here's the engine bay. looks like no AC right? Would that mean it's a non-ac truck that someone has swapped dashes on or something?

Is this a good deal? 79 GMC K10 Step Side

Now the important question, is it worth 1700? I would hope to get it for 1500 but at the worst is 1700 a good price? It definitely looks better than some of the rust buckets around here.

Is this a good deal? 79 GMC K10 Step Side

Well bust my buttons. That's one of those things I've seen 100 times and it never sank in. I always just look for the heater controls and never really paid attention to the vents. Thanks!

Is this a good deal? 79 GMC K10 Step Side

So if it has the vents on the left and right, then that means it was at least an AC truck at some point?

Is this a good deal? 79 GMC K10 Step Side

I feel like I'm missing something basic here.... so if it has vents then it has air conditioning? Do non AC trucks only have defrost?
