    Holley Dissection Inspection...

Take her completely apart! Holley is actually very simple to rebuild, you need to get that metering plate off to see how bad it is behind it. Sometimes even regular screwdrivers will work in the "clutch" screws. A rebuild kit will come with a new power valve, but you can blow on the old one...

    Help upgrading the AC on a 1985 C20 6.2L

So sorry, my post came out totally wrong. No wonder my kids hate me, avoid me like the plague, and believe that socialism is somehow connected to facebook. Again, Forgive me. Sorry

Decent Paint That Won't Break the Bank

Bodywork and painting is an art, a very hard art. I've tried my damndest over the years, and I cannot get it, no matter what. I have the utmost respect for anyone that can spend hours, days, even weeks...sanding, blocking, matching, adjusting body panels. Hell, I can build an engine, re-build...

IN NEED OF A FUEL TANK SELECTOR VALVE SINGLE PIN 6 PORT

That's a tough one, I can't say at this point. I have done search after search and it's darn complicated. I really don's see why not, it's actually simple wiring, it's all about the switching to ground. I really wish I could help, MY problem was that the wires from the switch were pinched...

    Help upgrading the AC on a 1985 C20 6.2L

Let me get this right, this is your "Son's truck"? It's over 100F. in the Summer? Just a guess, but it's a 1984 with a small-block. Stop-and-go driving? Well R-12 is out of the question, unless you live in Mexico. 134-A? Good stuff indeed! But maybe do like the rest of us when we were...

    Search Help

Funny as hell, I've used "plumbers tape as well" worked great, still works great I guess, the radio is still there and doesn't skip on CD or 8 track :). Of course, my daughter keeps trying to find an Mp3 plug when I take her to school. I probably could have skipped the whole 2 hour ordeal if I...

    700r4 gear hunting

Don't worry about the trans cooler for now. You need to get it to shift right first. Cooling or not is not your problem. You can install a trans cooler anytime, it's not your problem right now. I went through the same hell as you are now. Edlebrock "air gap" manifold with Edlebrock...

    Search Help

I had the same problem, Home Depot, 1/2" aluminum bar stock, a drill, and some good old American Ingenuity. I had to drill a few holes pretty close together, bend / twist the aluminum a little bit here and there, but it turned out WAY sturdy. Of course, I had to do a lot of work by Braille...

    Fuel tank filler hose leak

Piece of cake Cantaloupe. If your gauge reads anything under full, you don't have to worry about fuel spilling out. Just be SAFE first, no open flames, sparks, friends welding nearby, or smoking during the fix. Loosen up the hose clamps as far as you can loosen them first, take it all...

    EFI Swap...I need advice

Don't forget the filler tube if going to a single tank, a pain in the ass if you don't get the burp tube in correctly. I prefer a clean running carb motor, with mechanical fuel pump under the hood, 30 minutes to change it out. A well tuned quadrajet is the best, but Holley or Edlebrock if your...

    TH400 slushy shifting.

What turbo 400? I remember a Turbo 130, but she is probably a Grandma by now. Wish I had a vacuum gauge back then :)

Cut steel on a regular basis? Or at all?

I've been using the abrasive cut-off wheel for the the skill-saw for over a decade. The equivalent of a giant dremel cut-off wheel. Have used Diablo blades on my Saws-all too, but never seen this...awesome. Tech changes so fast now, it's amazing. Thanks for the heads-up!

    Gear question

WOW Mix Master! Excellent write-up and description of how it works. I have read several iterations of how-to check, but yours is the the most simple plain English and accurate procedure I've found. Charts, graphs, calculus, and hieroglyphics, and non consideration of lockers, limited slips...

Pass Ca. Smog with new Top End?

This is the reason I left that piece of crap, but beautiful State. The Commies have ruined it. Born and raised in So. Cal. Always built my own small blocks since high school. Couldn't get them registered by the 90's, even though the Smog shops said they passed emissions, but the "new visual"...

    TH400 slushy shifting.

Brings back memories. My dad was the same way, I would always see him in the passenger seat slamming the floor with his right foot, like he was trying to hit a non-existent brake pedal. He never said a word, but I could see him hyper-ventilating riding shotgun in my 69 Roadrunner that was...

    Tic,Tic,Tic coming from flex plate

Yup, when I found the old bolts and took out one of the new-fangled super-hardened ARP or Edlebrock racing bolts (yes, they make "racing" or heavy-duty flex-plate bolts that I just had to have), I compared them visually and you could see the difference in height. I then put the micrometer on...

    Tic,Tic,Tic coming from flex plate

I had the same exact problem, took me a week to track it down. It was the new flex-plate bolts. The fit perfect, but the bolt heads were .015" taller, pulled them out and put back in the old ones after spending hours finding them, and the ticking went away.

IN NEED OF A FUEL TANK SELECTOR VALVE SINGLE PIN 6 PORT

Rock auto has the 6 port "Standard Motor Products" valve, and it's cheap, for an excellent brand name.

    Mechanical fuel pumps

Did you install your own cam, timing chain and gear set? Might be off if its spitting flames. Slow down, double check TDC with the spark plug out and timing marks on balancer. Double check plug wires for damage or cross firing. Rotor and cap installed correctly? Dont worry, you'll get it...

    ac vacuum lines

Heater control system WOW! Chengny, you are awesome. I've been tearing my hair out for days, studying and figuring out this system. I was darn close, but because of my cursing, my wife found this site/thread. Now it completely makes sense. I just got a new A/C Delco "control valve" ( the...
