You dog!! Well that takes care of that haha

All in good time man! Let me know if you need any help with the wiring fiasco; pcm work too if you decide to do that yourself.

    LS3 swap thread

I had some really good help from my brother - he's a mechanical guru. It's not the prettiest truck, but it's my favorite vehicle out of anything I've built. I didn't spend any time dressing up the engine compartment, so it looks like I slaughtered an '07 1500 and stuffed it's organs in my...

    LS3 swap thread

Awesome looking rig!!! Lt1swap.com That's a really solid resource that lots of folks use. I followed that site almost verbatim, and my swap has been a great daily. Only faults so far have been my own from cheaping out on certain parts. If you take your time, do plenty of research and are...

    Griffin radiator FAIL!

Yeah even id wince at anything pre '70 with an ls. Griffin is sending me a new radiator, so I'll let y'all know how well that one holds up.

    Griffin radiator FAIL!

I won't lie, I had a fearful moment when I had to hash though all these entrails. But paying due diligence and going slow made it a breeze. The hardest part is messing around with the pcm to get it to do what you want. Lots of folks won't fork out for hptuners, but it pays for itself...

    Griffin radiator FAIL!

Hey man ls swaps aren't that expensive! 2k for the entire drivetrain, with a bitchin fresh lq9. For its purpose as daily driver, that couldn't have been a better deal. I'll try to justify it as best I can... Done plenty of sbc/bbc wrenching and swapping, figured I'd find out what the ls...

    Griffin radiator FAIL!

I almost ran the factory 6.2 radiator I had, but figured it was a good time to spend a little for convenience. Little did I know... The ls swap definitely has its merits. I've had regrets about ripping that diesel out - don't get me wrong, but when the go pedal hits the floor, there's this...

Oh boy here we go haha

    Griffin radiator FAIL!

Just a matter of packaging. All water connections are passenger side - that conversion rad is nice since you don't need to run hoses all over the place. Join the dark side, and all this radiator b.s. will seem petty :)

    Griffin radiator FAIL!

Yeah man summit is awesome. They are going to replace it; I'm lucky enough to be under warranty. I just hope the next one holds up. As much as I value a good cooling system flush, it's not on my "every 5,000 miles" maintenance plan.

    Griffin radiator FAIL!

Good point. This is for my LS swap only - I do own another griffin radiator that works just fine in my tempest, so I'm hoping it's just this specific model.

    Griffin radiator FAIL!

Well I was singing its praises about 2000 miles ago on one of these threads, but the LS swap advertised griffin radiator finally crapped its pants. 4300 miles and done. https://m.summitracing.com/parts/gri-8-00013-ls/none/images Don't do it. Everything was great about it during...

    1985 6.0 swap

I had a 6.2/700r4 in my 85 that I swapped for a 6.0/4l60e - factory driveshaft was barely too short, and I ran the engine almost all the way to the firewall. I'm probably not much help since the setup is so different, but hopefully this gets the ball rolling for you. The factory shaft on my...

    2 in 1 - th400/4l80 combo

https://www.powernationtv.com/episode/XO2017-04/two-in-one-transmission Saw this episode last night; worth a watch if you've got 20 minutes to burn. One if their more advanced projects but definitely an interesting build.

    86 K10 5.3 swap

Looks like a solid unit. I keep tapping into the factory block but it's a hassle now that almost everything is loomed up. Never hurts to have room for expansion! My brother surprised me with a wb o2 sensor for xmas and I still have yet to clean up that jumble. Luckily I never have to...

    86 K10 5.3 swap

I think he missed a 12v trans wire that you'll need to hook up otherwise it'll be in limp mode - I used the factory fuse box and can give you a correct pinout if you'd like. There's a ton of unused connections that can be REALLY helpful like for fuel pump and the like. Fans were a bit of a...

    86 K10 5.3 swap

Have you been on lt1swap.com ? I followed his site to the letter and the thing lit off first shot. Has p/n's and links to tons of the electrical stuff you'll need like fuses, blocks, relays you name it, and shows how to hook them up. Mechanical stuff on the other hand, I feel you. Seems...

10 bolt limited slip or upgrade to a 12b?

Damn that would've been pretty awesome. It's a bummer they're so rare and coveted.. I'm well beyond a restoration worthy base, so I don't mind pissing off purists. It's not a gto so it would need to be absolutely mint for it to be worth anything. If the homemade cowl hood and front end...

10 bolt limited slip or upgrade to a 12b?

No we went sbc - Pontiac anything is too expensive!! Maybe one day but for now it's a mutt.

10 bolt limited slip or upgrade to a 12b?

It'll have a casual life don't worry - aside from a couple hard pulls vs. the tempest. I'm not expecting the thing to be bullet proof and the truck it's going in is my daily, so there won't be any abuse like that. Hell I wouldn't have even done that on my ff 14b! It's kind of nice having the...

+1 for griffin. Running them on 2 projects - sbc and an LQ9 no issues.

    Seat cover woes...

https://m.summitracing.com/parts/cld-tweed I'd get a more specific link up but I can't use that choose options button on my phone.. -just realized you were looking for the Napa part and don't know how to delete a post... either way that's the one I'm running and I'm quite happy with it:

    Seat cover woes...

Caltrend on summit. Only put mine in about a month ago so can't say for durability, but it fits pretty well. Pretty expensive but so far so good.
