    LS Swap fuel question

They fit, but the older tanks don't have a sump, so you have the potential for fuel starvation at low levels on a corner, stopping and starting, where there would be fuel slosh. It's best to use newer tanks with matching sending units and fuel pumps. Delco EP381 is a good fuel pump for an LS swap.

best way to keep oem speedo with VSS

I picked one up on ebay a few months ago from a '91 K5. I searched hard and came upon the listing with no picture. Nabbed it for $75 and free shipping.

    choosing mirrors

Well since we're here, and we're beating this horse, does anybody have any input on what bullet shaped mirrors fit nice, without a whole lot of modification? I'm thinking like some thing from the mid '70's- early '80's, life F-body or G-body mirrors. I haven't ever dicked with them, and...

    por15 good or bad?

Wear long sleeves and gloves. The shit's like anti-seize, and gets everywhere. It doesn't wash off, you have to WEAR it off. Don't forget to take the gloves off when you piss....

    Filling Trim holes

I welded the seam on the back of my cab when I installed a 3rd brake light. If I ever did it again I think I would actually cut the seam out and weld a strip in place of it, but since I got started, I went ahead and finished it. The problem is that it's full of seam sealer, that bubbles and...

looking to do a 4/6 on an 86 c10 lwb

This is with the 2.5" spindle and 2" drop spring in the front. I never measured prior to installing to see how much drop it gave me, but the tires were always rubbing in the inner fender wells (255/60 15). It didn't sit level and the front crossmember and headers dragged on everything. It pissed...

looking to do a 4/6 on an 86 c10 lwb

I have 2.5" drop spindles and 1" drop springs on the front, and a flip kit on the rear. I'm getting away with 15" wheels, after grinding the lip off my lower control arms, a little grinding on the knuckle where the tie rod ends rubbed, and tweaking my brake lines a bit. Most guys cut one coil to...

In the home stretch.. Then disaster strikes...

Softer than brass, BUT.... Drill it out and chase the threads, get it all cleaned up, then bump the motor over or use a drill primer to pump oil out the sending unit hole to flush it. It'll make a mess, but it should flush all the brass chips out.

Any tips/tricks for rear axle flip kit.

Not much to it. Drop your axle off, and have a buddy help you stick it back in on top of the springs. I have an '82 LWB and it took a couple hours, but not much longer. Didn't do anything about the pinion angle because the flip kit had correction built in. I assume it did anyway, and there...

Door and hood alignment on 73 C10

Going through this now, lining up prior to bodywork and paint. I replaced the cab and core support mounts, should I leave them loose to help with alignment? There seems to be a lot of wiggle room there. I have the feeling that panel alignment is a lot of "hold you mouth just right", and luck?

    Leak in steering

Interested. I'm told that rebuilding a steering gear is a black art that was only passed down in a few secret societies, and that it's on the verge of extinction.

Oil leak from front differential on K10

Go to the parts store and ask for a pinion seal for the front diff on a '85 chevy K10. They should be able to look it up by application. You can change it without major disassembly. Rattle the nut off with an impact, tap the flange off with a hammer, remove the seal with a hook style seal...

    wanna lower 1975 c10 2wd

They ride great. I can't get pics to load, but mine looks like all the rest with a 4-6 drop. Axle over spring is superior to spring over axle at controlling axle wrap and wheel hop.

how much drop with 15x8 rallies

2.5" spindles and 1" springs up front and a 5" flip in the rear (no notch needed, but need to remove rear bump stops) will sit you low and level without any major modification. Stock shocks on the front and mid 90's Nissan Hardbody shocks on the rear (I use cheap monroes vs. expensive drop...

Looking for a heavy-duty receiver hitch

Take it to a machine shop and have one built. I would think it shouldn't cost much more than a commercially made one, and probably better quality too.

Dana 44 Late model axle upgrade

The difference is that your 1983 axle is a GM corporate 10 bolt, and your early axle is a Dana 44. Most parts won't interchange. Both are comparable in strength, the 10 bolt being a little stronger, but negligible. There were also two different models of dana 44 hubs. One was called the "big...
