2.5” exhaust kit for 85 suburban?

You can buy the 2 1/2" pipes pre bent for over the axle and out the side on the net. I would suggest a local muffler shop for the engine to the mufflers. Don't waste your time or money on a crossover or H pipe, they produce minimal performance gains.

Found a free motor and can't find identification

I have a complete '25 engine in my doodlebug,Presently stuck with atf and acetone in the cylinders. I am curious to its value as the doodlebug is just yard art and i would be willing to sell parts but don't know what the market for the engine would be.

Want to build a good horsepower, good fuel economy engine for a 1978 c20 with stock 350. I don't know much and need help.

I've had a couple of short c`10's. AL intake, long tube hedders, q`jet, RV cam, 6cyl gears. Always good power and 10 mpg. Nobody builds a squarebody for mileage. Find a corolla or civic for mileage.

    Spray vs Plastic Bedliner

Why not just pressure wash it, prime and paint the bed like when it was new? Unless you are doing a high end build this would be the cheapest and easiest route. Scuffs and scratches would just be a badge of honor. This way you can keep an eye on the condition of the metal in the bed.

Rear end gear ratio change or transmission change ?

5,000 rpm would sound like it's ready to explode. I think the tach is not accurate.

    Traction Aid for 77 K10

How old are the tires? They will lose considerable wet/cold traction at 4 to 6 years of age.

    Metal work

Now is the perfect time to learn. Parts are cheap. Cut away what is bad and fit in the new using only as much as you need. Screw it together Hire someone experienced at sheet metal mig welding if you don't weld. It should require very little bondo, just enough to blend the new with the original...

    Lowering 1984 c10 rear by 2 inches

On a stepside you will have to cut the brace. The shackle will end up very near the bottom of the wood but does not interfere at least with my installation.

    For the Handicapped

Why would you install larger tires on a truck you already can't get into? That makes no sense to me. I would lower it a little.

    daily driving/work truck use

I wouldn't mess with the engine/trans combo, I had a suburban with the same combo. Taller tires and/or taller gears might make it more comfortable at highway speeds. Expect about 10mpg .

    Engine help

The 6.2 to 6.5 swap would require little or no fabrication. That just simplifies the whole job. I don't know how much power the OP needs or his budget.

    Thermostat 195?

    Engine help

The 6.2 doesn't respond as well to turbo as the 6.5 does. A 6.2 to 6.5 swap would be the easiest, cheapest power adder. The 6.2 still has value and could be sold off after a swap.

    Goodyear Military sand Performance?

I wonder what the date code is on those tires. In the past I have replaced perfectly good looking tires just because they lost all of their wet weather traction. Six years or so seems to be the useful life according to internet research.

305 SBC vs 6.2 Detroit: Which would you rather?

I prefer the 6.2 and it has turned into my daily driver over the '81 sbc. Even though my garage doesn't go below 40deg.F the 6.2 really likes the block heater. I don't mind that it's slow, I'm retired.

Just started my first hands on squarebody build, looking for advice

Not many build a squarebody to make money. This is not a c2 vette or hemi cuda. Your build is much like a street rod. It's much cheaper to buy one used than build one.

Is there such a thing as Cams for Dummies

With all of the monkey business of flat tappet cams and lifters these days, I would be inclined to use a roller cam. The extra $ spent will still be cheaper than wasting an engine on a failed cam or lifter.
