    Hey there boys and girls..Have a 1ton burban with a 400 turbo which went south

    I planned on replacing the 400 Turbo after it puked on me.BUT now the shop found me a complete donor 92 K2500 with a 5 speed ( well 4 speed granny low )..Anyone ever flipped an auto like this to a stick..Me i like a good stick shift..

    1-ton swap

    plasma cleared all the old perchs off and got new ones,used angle finder to get it right the first time..a lot of extra work just had to have it right the first time.It really turned out nice no axle wrap or twisted up feeling on a tight curves..

    will a 700r4 replace a 400 turbo without to much drama

    good im not crazy.He did say he had a 4L80 that needed to be gone thru.I miss being in a shop i would have already dealt with this.I have rebuilt a lot of PG 350 and a few T400's.Doing a 4wd trans on the ground just doesnt work for me. I know the t400 is a great deal stronger.

    I ask this because my beast sits right now because my trans has had it..weird too most times a GM will let you know its failing before it just FAILS..not this time..lost third gear driving to Walgreens. A very close friend of mine has a trans shop he deals with whenever he gets trans issues...

    this is the oddest thing thing..ever..i have no headlights after changing my WP

    Yeah..Pump went south.No big deal changed it out again no biggie..Had to go pick up the wife pull the headlight switch dash lights,Buuut no headlights. Grabbed a test light and used the battery ground to the headlight plug in and i get a light.Now i know the headlights have their own ground...

    best intake for a well built SBC is an Edelbrock 2975 Victor Jr. AND yes it is a single plane but look around the net this monster is ALMOST as good a dual plane down low and flows like a jet about 3000...

    My speedo seems to some days feels like a nut and sometimes not..Just trying to see if it is a direct cable connection or she runs thru a buffer..

    depending on where you live.A lot of times there are places local that can make your spring paks for you.We have St.Louis Spring here and i have dealt with them for years thru the shops i have run.I just went to them told them what i was building..BBC custom HVY front bumper and they got it...

    OR like today.Nice 75 and he ran great.Its a heat thing making me nuts.I am pulling the carb off and going to freshen it up and ck for anything that looks at of place.

    your right on the plugs but i was looking for some blisters on the porcelain i really think i have a lean issue..so im pulling off the carb and doing a rebuild,its been on 3 years ( cant hurt ) trying to find something that is exposed cold and isnt warm/hot..like today this am its 70 outside...

    well not guessing..lol..i did pull the plugs and they didnt look bad at all.Did a combustion byproduct test it all stayed blue..was concerned i might have had a leaking head gasket that when cold was open and as it warmed it closed..no evidence for that..i dont put down everything i do because a...

    OKAY UPdate it has been in the 70's here..YEP in the middle of winter..and the truck runs hard..no pop pop pop..got cold next 30's ( yeah we have some odd weather) had to warm it up again or pop pop pop...so im thinking fuel now or choke issues..what do you guys think..?

    Thanks guys , i have a direction to go now and start cking..Going to ck timing also just to ck it i shouldnt be effected by the engine being cold or at temp.Good thought on that electric choke..that HAS been a PITA since new.
