What's the factory rear view mirror size?
The mirror in my 79 K5 is 10" and I think it's the original one. LMC has replacement mirrors in 3 different sizes and glue. The OER mirror looks nice but is pricey. Mirror glue kits should be available in auto part stores for cheap... -

Windshield seal/rubber replacement. is there a preferred brand or is all the same?
I prefer Precision, they seem to be softer and fit better. Working the lower corners in is bitch. Best is to grab a friend and some beer. Four hands make installation way easier.- ali_c20

Bump Stops
Lube with soapy water or silicone spray and get it started with a flat blade screw driver on one end and and then it should slide in. If not work the sides in with the screw driver. Be careful not to poke thru the rubber with the screwdriver. Warming up the lower part of the bump stop helps a...- ali_c20

Wanted: 78-80 Wiper Motor Crank Arm
They are different in the depth and the orientation of the slot. When the motors changed also the arms changed. I ordered a new GM arm so that i have the ball thingi and the slotted part. I will use the crank arm of my k5 as template and fabricate one. The Nos pieces for trucks go for 40$ the... -

Get a quality stock style distributor like proform gm licensed or DUI with mechanical and vacuum advance and match the gear material to your cam (roller/flat tapped). On the cheap distributors modules and transistors like to die soon.- ali_c20

Want to bag 79. But also want to keep it around stock.
Should be possible but that's a lot of parts work and money. Do you want to improve handling? Go for good coil over shocks, tubular control arms, sway bars front and back and a good steering box if you want to be around stock height. No need for compressor valves lines etc.- ali_c20
