    454 intake manifold removal - heavy?

    stock manifold on a 454 TBI is just a Q-Jet manifold with a adapter for TBI with water running through it for warmup. Edelbrock makes a TBI manifold #3764. I would put a performer #2161 non egr or #3761 egr and use the stock adapter. Then If you ever want a carb you can do that also. Just my .02.

    Electric Fuel Pump

    That is why you use a bypass style regulator, it returns unused fuel back to the tank. If you were to use a regular regulator it would put stress on the pump. On a 454 the fuel pressure spec is 6.5 - 9lbs. I have mine set at 8 psi and 10,000 miles on the pump so far with no problems.

    peanut port heads work great in towing heavy loads, we tried a set of closed chamber oval ports on a 454 tow motor, lost torque and mpg, did a little work to the peanuts and put them back on.
