My 81 gmc has the wipers on the dash very inconvient because it rains often in the city where I live, I have a later model steering column already in the truck with the controls on the signal stick, wondering if anyone has a write up on how to wire in the column controls and if I do convert it will it have intermittent speed right now I only have low and high

What function your column mounted wiper switch will provide is based on the type of switch you have in it. If your end looks like the attached picture with only 5 wires then it is only a 2 speed switch and will plug straight into your stock harness. If it has the 7 wire plug end then it is for the pulse wipers and needs the pulse module designed to make the connection between your stock harness and the pulse switch which is a 1985 version pictured.
