Depends on that Scat crank. It's very possible it has a 350, 5.7 rods and those the better ones to have with a 383 stroker rather than the shorter 400 engine rods. Use the longer rod so long as the pistons have the wrist pin in the correct compression height. The longer rods take alot less strain and more apt to run a bit higher rpm without problems. If all that is said that was done, that looks like a good build. Rods were resized, line hone was done etc. They did some good things that alot of people seem to skimp on.

If the engine is that low of mileage still, and if not done properly, the rings may not even be seated yet. Those plasma moly rings are hard to get seated, they take awhile. If it were me, I'd probably just start over with a new break in proecdure. Put a 195 thermostat in it for awhile so it runs a tad hotter, use standard 30 weight NON DETERGENT motor oil. You don't need detergent in a new clean engine anyway. But you don't want something so slick the rings aren't scrubbing the cylinder walls. Do a cam break in or Zinc addative too. Warmer engine, let them rings scrub the cylinders walls for about 500-800 miles and they should find a happy home and last a good long time.

Been looking for a set of headers to fit an 80 k10, what headers are the best without a ton of modification?

I hate to be that guy but... Look around here a little bit. The header subject has kinda been beat to death the last few years.
Looked alot, went back well over two years in threads, always do before posting, but seems that most exhaust posts come out to custom or end up about headers back, I have a set of flow tech but they aren't gonna fit without trimming the frame

I guess because I'm not running headers, I haven't been paying attention either. :shrug:

Maybe we need a header discussion Sticky in the exhaust section??? There might even be one already that we can turn into a Sticky and make sure it's cleaned up an On Topic. You want to ram rod that deal when you get a few spare minutes @bucket ??? :shrug: No extreme hurry of course or 1 of us others can do it.

I'm surprised there's not, being that headers are kind of a off part that's a bit sparse fitting these trucks, the headers on my 85 will fit that with a couple dents, but they won't fit the 80 without trimming the frame

I've had many sets of different makes, they have all fit. And some car headers fit too. When I get a chance I'll put a bunch of stuff together and sticky it.

And I've had Flowtechs too. They fit my '77 K5 as well as my '84 C10. #100115 maybe?

And I've had Flowtechs too. They fit my '77 K5 as well as my '84 C10. #100115 maybe?
I'm not sure what mine are, but they needed dented heavily to fit the 85

Dammit, I need a K5. I keep trying to tell myself to settle for a Burb since that's more likely to happen, but dammit, I really want a K5. You need to quit posting pics Rusty.

I think the clear fronts might also be win. Sets off the side trim pretty great. Gonna give em a shot even though the original pair I own are NOT in very good shape.

What is it with you ppl? One day it's pics pics pics now it's no pics quit.

Not much doing here, Abby was in Illinoying for Spring Break but soon we will be installing new door hinges as well as doors, new AM/FM cassette we picked up as soon as I fix it and she got a camper shell for Bertha a couple of weeks ago.

Her new boyfriend should be helping her but he's a Ford fanboy (he paid $400 for a 1978 Courier that the seller should be fuggin ashamed of himself for selling it rather than putting it out of it's misery) so he's about useless there...She's in love so I can't fault him now.
