My passenger seatbelt is extremely frayed. The drivers is better but still rough. Anybody use these universal style seat belts before?

I have not. There's plenty of help here and we have a few parts laying around. I have a feeling if you asked nicely, someone may have what you need in the correct color for a fair price + shipping.

I am using full aftermarket set. Some vendors sell same side for both passenger and driver side, while others sell already configured for each side. Mounting relatively straight forward. But if you can get good stock set, would be cheaper. And if it just the material that is bad, and mechanism in good shape, most local upholstery shops can install new belt material.

Is black the color you're looking for?

Mine are tan. I would like to switch to black. The mechanism work sort of. You have to pull on them a few times in order to get them to retract. They also lock very easily. I did some eBay searching for factory stuff and they were pretty pricey in comparison to these universal ones.

I used these on my '79 K15. The only thing I didn't really like is they would lock easier than the OEMs. Available in 30 colors.

Those look very similar to what I posted. The eBay ones I posted are only $75. I think I'm going to give them a shot. I actually may stay tan now that I'm thinking about it.

I bought a set in black from LMC. Did not like them at all. They came out as soon as I found a black factory set.

I can look and see what I have. I know I have a tan set, but I can’t speak to their condition.

If you don't get the GM buckles, they are about $90 each. For my K30, I'm going to buy new webbing and use the original retractors and hardware. I'll have a local shop do it.

I've been looking for factory style replacements as well.
I don't really care for the universal ones. They are half as wide as the factory ones I have.
Has anyone had them rebuilt?
Are the internals available?

Let me know. If they're in decent shape send me a message.

Went and looked today. Both are there, but it’s really on the fence as far as shape goes. The belts are in good condition as far as fraying goes, and they definitely need to be cleaned, but fading is my main concern. I’ll let you be the judge if you want to proceed. Won’t hurt my feelings if you want to go another direction.
