Maybe the V10, pretty common on them. Had not heard that problem on the 5.4. It would be hard to spit out the plug on a 5.4 cause they seize in the cylinder after about 50k.

Then they realized it sucked and went to the Coyote design. My 2015 F250 work truck has a 6.2 in and I beat the piss out of it towing and it hasn’t broken yet even at 75k miles. It gets a steady 11.2 mpg towing or not. That’s right every traffic light is a race. Lol

I've had a ton of personal vehicles, and am still 1/2 owner of a car lot that I leterally never go to and live several hundred miles away from now lol.
My personal experience is that pretty much anything on the road will run 300k made from 96 or so on. And they all have some fatal flaw.
99-07 Chevy trucks have transfer case pump rub, that will kill the case in every single solitary one of them. And the brake lines rot out and the ABS modules fail. I've already put a case in my DD 02, now he's good for another 200k
97-02 Ford V8's have like 2.5 threads on the spark plug and do strip out and blow out.
03-10's Fords seize in the head.
4.7's Dodge water pumps eat themselves alive, same with the 3.7. The transmissions tend to **** the bed also.
Duramax injectors suck, on and on and on. Nothing is perfect over 100k

6.5's are ok. They are very economical, get good mileage, and are fairly reliable stock. The electronic pump versions tend to fail. If it's running currently, it's not worth worrying about, just relocate it and move on.
My dad has a C3500HD with a 6.5 and 290,000 on it, and it's all original other than the exhaust, and the PMD.

Pump Mounted Driver. It's the magic electric box that tells the injector pump what to do. They get too hot in the stock location and fail. Relocate it and they seem good forever, my dad's has been moved since 99 and fine every since.
If you want to like, stack tooooners and roll coal and all that, they won't make 200 hp and 9001 ft/lbs easily like more modern engines, but they don't suck.

They tend to eat lifters and spit the crank snout out the bottom of the truck been there done that at like 70 on the highway lol it was fun. The even more fun part was that it wasn’t mine but the un fun part the truck got replaced with a V10 ford what a turd for a rollback.
