Make me an offer for a he whole column minus the wheel not that I want it but it would be easier to ship. Not sure what a column weighs my shipping zip is 17601
Do you still have this? I think I want to swap the whole column during my Christmas break to get everything working to avoid having to disassemble it to a nub to fix it, and then having to mess around with a bunch of horn trinkets.

Are you talking about the bolts way down in there from 89S's write up? Do you know if it's an automatic transmission, tilt column?

Hmm... I'll see if I can come up with something locally and let you know. Not trying to string you along; I just really want to do this job as cheaply and painlessly as possible. I also need to see if the horn contact stuff will work between the GMT400 steering wheel and the 70s-80s steering wheel. @RetroC10Sport?

Yep, the horn contact stuff plugs into the cancel cam just like the older years.

I should clarify, you use the horn contact stuff that matches the steering wheel.

What @bucket said. We put a GMT-400 steering wheel in my daughter's truck before she got it when I was friends with the previous owner.

Okay, so if you don't have the contact stuff for the earlier style and that's what you want to use, it's not good. I see.

If you don't have the horn contact bits, it's all available. GM basically only had a few different setups they used through the late 60's and into the early 90's.

Okay, so the canceling cam and the contact pieces work across the board, and I can reuse those. What about the horn button retainer kit (cup, screws, little rubber thingy, etc.)? I found one for the previous generation of trucks but not one for 73-88. I have some of the pieces that I've managed to scrounge up, but I'd rather get new ones.

There's nothing wrong with used stuff at all, nothing really ever goes wrong with it. It's been a while since I've messed with a stock truck wheel, but this should be the parts needed:

Mounting cup
Mounting screws (3)
Mounting screws isolator
Spring plate
Contact button, spring and retainer

There were numerous GM steering wheels that used the very same combination of parts.
