HELP needed....while using this awesome summary to get to the four loose screws in my '87 V1500 w/tilt, these 2 parts fell out onto the floor....I'm like "huh", what was that sound of parts hitting the floor?! Now for the life of me, can't seem to find out how to get them back into the column....they look broken to me....damn! much thx

going through mine now. Had an issue where the sector preload spring fell out on the floor and I didn't notice where it belonged. Finally came across Jazzman's guide to rebuilding one...and it showed me where it went lol. I noticed one post that had the link in it, thought I'd share again. Full of pics.

rebuilt mine in a vice and is all together and mostly functional.
I noticed I could not take it out of gear in the ON/RUN position. I take the key back one click and it will move through the gears. When the key is as far back as it can go, it's in the LOCK postion and not ACC.
Ideas? I did cycle the cylinder prior to installing (as a functional check). Also, when it's in the ON/RUN position and I attempt to move the shift lever, I can see the ignition rod move/torque a bit.

Adjusting the switch (after disassembly and re-assembly) took care of all but no ACC. It might need a new cylinder.

I think you’re right. A cheap cylinder from O’Reilly’s remedied my lack of ACC mode.

I have a problem which I cannot find adressed anywhere. Hoping to get some answers in this thread..
I've teared down the column to the point of the pin pivot removal.
I can see the screws that might need tighten a few threads although they are not dangling loose at all.
However my problem is that the shaft is moving completely freely inside of the tube, nothing holds it centered or in place.
In other words the shaft is moving independent of the ball joint movement..
Does anyone have a clue what could be broken?
