I have been looking up the numbers for my two Quadrajets and the one that is currently on my truck is a 1974 California model. What is the difference between California and non California?

Sadly enough, there is not too much information online besides the obvious lower emissions for California standards. I'm not sure if there are physical differences, such as jet sizes, or just the way the way they are tuned. I switched carbs 20+ years ago and I am just going to put the "spare", which is the original, back on. One thing I am still confused about is both carbs are for manual transmissions but they both have the linkage for the automatics. The California carb is one I took off another engine so that one may have been made to fit but the other is from this engine and is original unless it was swapped by the time it was two years old.

Calibrations were different but the Quadrajet can be set up for whatever you need to do. No other carb differences between CA and non CA.
