That's an idle speed control relay per the GM part number on it. Now, what it does, I'm not a hundred percent sure. If I had to guess, I'd say it controlled an idle up solenoid/dashpot for the factory carb.

It might not even have been the flash. I used to take pics of # because I could not see them, but the cam lens could. So I took the pic, and opened it on my computer screen to read it. It's a fact, cam lens can see better than the avg naked eye.

That controls the vacuum pod on the front driver's side of the carb and the vacuum switch in picture #3. If you still have the vacuum pod, could you get me the part number off it? Mine was missing when I purchased the truck and I couldn't read this part number well enough? I need one to get it to pass smog here in California. I know it is discontinued, but it will help my search.

Yes it is, that how thieves find trail camera's in the woods. Go at night on deer trails with the camera running, walk until you see a flash on the screen.....BINGO. They can see infrared light. Test yours with your TV remote, you'll see.

Yes, I'm fully aware. When I worked at an appliance, TV and furniture chain, that's how we tested remotes if they worked or not. Got in front of the video cam display and tested the remote to see if we could see the infared signal or not. Some remotes even put off a dual beam.
