Would like to get a set of headers for my 86 c1500 but all the ones I've found hang below the frame rails. My truck has a 350 and just lowered it. The exhaust on it now have is low and will replace it in the spring when I put another engine in. Just want to know if anyone knows which brand or other applications headers will fit

I have 3/4 length chevelle headers on mine. They dont hang down below the frame and allow the exhaust to tuck up nice and high so it doesnt scrape.

My long tube header hang below the frame about 3 inches. My truck (small block 350) currently sits at 5 front 7 rear static drop. I havent scraped to date. My saddle tanks are more of a clearance issue than the header flanges. I am gathering up materials to bag the truck soon, obviously there will be some scraping at that point when aired out, but that will only be when parked.

As far as what headers I have, they were purchased locally at a hot rod shop that has them locally fabbed. The headers had enough clearance that I was able to install them with the motor in and NOT having to disconnect either motor mount.

I do have Nova headers on my big block C10. One could assume small block headers would fit too. My old Nova ended up with a small block and Flowtech headers, they looked like they would fit the trucks too.

But I'd like to point out that Headman makes two different versions of truck headers for the small block. One version hangs a little low, the other tucks up in higher (aloth a little harder to install because of it). I don't know the part numbers off-hand.

Headman has mid length headers for mine so they should fit yours too. I have an 87 c10 tbi305 700r4. Painted are $200 and ceramic coated is $464. Summit racing had them

Check out post #3 here: http://www.gmsquarebody.com/threads/headers-above-frame.18665/#post-346509

It would be very easy to modify the lines with the engine out. And I'd suggest an aftermarket crossmember shaped to let both pipes run under it, hopefully without the s-bends that I used.

FYI, Patriots are made using the same tooling as Doug's headers, but the Patriots have 16 gauge tubes and 5/16" flanges, whereas Doug's are 14 gauge and 3/8". Some of the really cheapo headers use 18 gauge tubes and 1/4" flanges.

Looked in to the Patriot headers if they fit like shown in the other thread that is what I'm looking for.
