Maybe maybe not, there was no pressure because the pump wasn't engaged so it couldn't pump fluid, as long as you didn't run it long you may be ok, and as long as the converter wasn't jammed hard against the pump gear, I would slide the tranny back and slide the converter in right and hook it back up and try it got nothing to lose, I did that with my neighbors car and it worked..

Heres a stupid question that begs asking: Did you replace all the tranny fluid and also check to see that transfer case was not in neutral?

Well, I've figured it out! Knowing me, I screwed something else up but for now, I found the issue. So there was no pressure what so ever being pumped through the trans. Seemed like there was at first then it just went silent. Well it was the pump. The two little tongs that slide into the little side fittings of the torque converter had gotten eatin up, spit out and stepped on for fun. Got that replaced and upgrade with, I think he said a 13 vein something or another. You tranny guys will know better but hopefully I'll get the trans in tomorrow and go from there. Wish me luck!

So I finally installed the rebuilt trans. The pump gears were replaced and I was told I was good to go. Well I haven't driven it not even a mile and I have this noise coming from the trans, more specifically the torque converter I believe. It only happens when I apply the throttle in gear ( Reverse, OD,D, 2, 1 ) and even then it sometimes does it and sometimes not. No sound in Park and Neutral. Did I screw something else up? To scared to drive it really for fear of permanent damage. I uploaded the video of the sound to YouTube in hopes that one of y'all can point me in the right direction.
