    To test for continuity you need a Volt ohm meter, Hobo freight sells a cheapy that works. When I worked on these rigs at the dealer 9/10 it was the module next was the pickup coil.     Pull dist cap and check if dist is worn out. No side play at all please. Did many @ the dealer. First place I would look with a no SES lite drivability issue.

    Hi Guys,I am ready to put a Hughes built 700 in my 85 K1500. I got a while back and it was out of a 92 Burb with a 6.2. with 3k before the motor let go. Question is should I put a govenor for a gas motor in or leave the low rpm diesel one in. Also where can I source one if needed??

    Check the wire @ choke for 12volts running,if no power check the C-H fuse @ fuse block. Your choke looks like its slamed shut could be the cause of your smoking issue.Hope this helps..

    Catastrophic roller lifter failure

    I Have done quite a few of the LS cams.Seem to remember a service bulliten about roller lifter bearing failures and cam lobes with poor hardening.That thing is the worst I have ever seen.
