    Identification help needed

The axles are from an older rig, it is a 12 bolt. My apologies for the vagueness. I'm learning new details of my truck the further I go and I have been ALL up and through it lol! It's an 87 cab, box is probably 73 because someone has done a pile of **** bodywork on it, front clip is perfect...

    Identification help needed

Finally got around to look into my rear end and I need some help identifying my configuration. Gears appear to be 3.73 but the carrier is somewhat elusive in the searching I've done. It appears to be an Eaton posi but thats the only info I've found that seams to jive. Any help would be awesome...

    4.10 to 4.56 or 4.88

I have roughly skimmed through this thread and there seams to be some conflict. I daily drive my 87 V10 short bed. It has 3" of lift on 33" tires, 5.3ls and built 4L60E, 12 bolt out back with 4:10's. At 70mph my truck is at 2k rpm exactly. 700R4 and 4l60E are same od ratio. Use this...

Need help with 5.3 ls swap

Heres what my list looked like. #'s 1 & 2 look good on your list, my truck was an 87 so I already had them. #3- AC Delco EP381 #4- 3/8 compression to -6an (SU feed) #5- 5/16 compression to -6an (SU return) #6- 20' of 3/8 (-6) stainless fuel line #7- 3/8 gm quick disconnect to -6an fitting...

    Another LED Question

The flasher is all you need. without it your factory flasher will not "blink". The resistor can be used in place of the flasher but is not the optimal solution. I would think their flasher would be the optimal route, the resistor would be the "plan B". Adding the resistor is somewhat of a quick...

Different approach for dash pad resto. Opinions please!!

The flexing was indeed my main concern. But I will be using marine epoxy with 1/2 maybe 1oz cloth not polyester (bondo) filler. Flexing should be tolerable in my opinion. I think I'm gonna get after it. I'll keep yall posted!

Different approach for dash pad resto. Opinions please!!

I know there are a million threads out there on how to restore a dash pad, however I haven't found any that fiber-glassed their dash pads. I build/refinish wood boats on the side occasionally and have copious amounts of top quality marine resins, cloths, and fillers at my disposal and am having...

Front Driveshaft From 700R4 208 Rig

In search of a front driveshaft from a 700R4 NP208 rig. My truck came from the previous owner with a shaft from a turbo 350 205 rig and its only got about an inch on intersection witch is not anywhere near enough. Figured I'd post up here and see what happens, couldn't hurt. From center of...

Got my gauges set up finally!!!!

Coolant Temp- Find the coolant port plug on the back side of the passenger side cylinder head. You will need to make or buy an adapter to to mate the M12x1.5 threads in the head to whatever your coolant temp sender threads are, mine were 3/8 NPT. I made my adapter however, you could simply...

Got my gauges set up finally!!!!

Was a fun, easy little project. Been driving the truck daily to work and back for months now and only had fuel and vdc, having a full compliment of gauges makes a huge difference in the driving experience in the truck. If you have the money for the Dakota setup, they seem pretty nice. Too...

Got my gauges set up finally!!!!

I have heard duct tape called hillbilly chrome as well come to think of it lol. I was referring to rattle can chrome, specifically, Duplicolor "chrome". Made a world of difference, it actually illuminates the gauges enough that you can see them at dusk. Mine I could'nt before.

Got my gauges set up finally!!!!

Nope, they're regular incandescents, 168's I believe. I painted the interior of the housing and the back side of the black reflector panel hillbilly chrome and it made a huge difference. everything dims as it should!
