To make a long story short, Went looking for a ticking noise that I thought was an exhaust leak and turned out to be lifters. After attempting to adjust them (turn the nut until the pushrod cant spin and then 1/2 turn) I realized that my lifters are probably on the way out (pushrods kept...
Looking for an sm465 to np205 circle/round pattern adapter. I have an early figure 8 adapter (with 10 spline coupler) I’d be willing to trade as well as an sm465 to np241 adapter. Located in the Denver area
Looking for input on 454 exhaust. Current set up is summit long tubes with 2-1/4” true duals (the dynomax kit I think) and cherry bomb knock off glass packs. I hate the sound and I’m about to throw on some 781 heads I got for cheap and an Edelbrock performer intake to match the oval ports with a...
Recently acquired a set of vortec heads and an Edelbrock performer rpm intake (oval port) and wondering which head/intake gaskets I need to get for these?
I think the alternator on my 90 suburban is going out. Took a look at it today and noticed this wire was cut (by previous owner presumably). Any idea why this might be the case?
Picked up a spare quadrajet this weekend and it’s an older version set up for a divorced choke. My truck originally came with a hot air choke but the port is now blocked off and I was wondering if anyone knew of an adapter or kit to make the divorced choke work with that opening or if there was...
Not sure if this helps (I’m in Denver so we go by whatever cali does) but we have to do a 2 speed idle test for anything 1990 and older. My advice from my experience:
1. Make sure your timing is set within the factory specs (too much advance will fail)
2. Make sure it’s not too lean (will...
Might be a stupid question, but will a stock exhaust system (post manifold) from a small block truck bolt up to a big block and vice versa? I have long tubes and true duals on my big block and I want to go back to manifolds and a 2-1 and wondering if I can just slap in the stock exhaust from a...
Sorry for the dogshit pics. But the lower part of both gaskets is wet with oil. Oil is also fresh because I’ve been having to constantly refill as I drive. I checked all 4 surfaces for flatness and they’re true as far as I can tell. Also no machining on heads that I’m aware of
After suspecting that my oil consumption + low vacuum issue was the result of bad intake manifold gaskets, I was able to confirm that that was the case (see pics). Basically I had a leak under the manifold that was simultaneously sucking oil into the intake ports and not letting me get past...
