I'm having a hard time finding an OEM fan... AFtermarket lightweight flex fans and shroud are gonna cost over $100 Thinking maybe I should look at a dual electric setup as a possible option... Seen a couple on eBay for about $120, that have dual 12" fans and an aluminum shroud.. Any thoughts...- R8rPhan

I had the whole fan come off on my 2001 chevy express 1500.. Had to replace the fan, clutch, shroud, and radiator... That one made a hell of a noise....- R8rPhan

DUDE! Just went out there and looked... Immediately noticed the shroud was damaged, and lo and behold, one of the fan blades is gone! Yippeee! Fix don't get much easier that that! Thank 'YOU' :favorites13:- R8rPhan

Hmmm... I didn't notice evidence of any shrapnel flying in there.. But it is the stock style fan, and old one... Another thing on the list to check... Man that would be sweet if that was the problem..- R8rPhan

I worry about that too... But the 'bang' sounded like it was outside the engine, sounded 'under' the truck... but hard to tell... Engine starts and revs fine.. Actually sounds pretty good... Just vibrates bad... Worse at lower RPMs, but of course, the higher the RPMs, the closer the...- R8rPhan

I had vehicle problems on the way home from a customer's house today... Was going up the steep incline passing lane into the mountain town I live in, and stepped on the gas to pass a semi, and all of a sudden 'bang' something broke in the drive train... My horn is inop too.. I rebuilt the innards as far as the turn signal, the horn and all that, I'm just missing the spring and the button... There are times I need it... I should at least rig something up for temp.. but you know.. lol- R8rPhan

I completely rewired this truck from bumper to bumper as it had some serious issues with the electric when I got it, so I'm intimately familiar with every wire, switch, and bulb on this thing.. (and it's all written down) :anitoof: Awesome! That's the hard part... From what I can see in...- R8rPhan

How did the column swap go? Bolt in, or were there issues? Did you have to change the steering box or change the length of the new column at all? The new column I have has Cruise control in it too.. The truck originally had it as I see the sensor for the brake is still there.. Not sure what...- R8rPhan

Looking at this again.. there's confusion in the description.... It says this: "G10140 - 78-83 Wiper Delay Controller 1981-87 Windshield Wiper Delay Controller: Wiper controller for early eighties GM trucks." What all did you replace? There's three components I'm having trouble identifying.. There's a three lead component that looks like an SCR or something on the back side, (but it's probably just a switch/relay of some kind) that has a heat sink on it.. and there's heat sink paste on the back side...- R8rPhan

What helped me was I got out the schematics for my truck (79 C10), copied the switch schematic and wiper schematic, pasted them in a new document, then connected the wires according to the large schematic in a computer drawing program (illustrator), then printed it out.. I bought one from him, and haven't been able to get it working yet.... Was super easy to put in though.. Remove the dash bezel, unscrew the existing wiper control, unplug the existing harness from it, plug the new switch into the new module, plug the new module into the existing harness, shove...- R8rPhan

No Not yet... I got a replacement switch, but after opening the package it appears to be a customer return and has some issues... I think I'll just returnn it to Oreilly and order one from RockAuto Wow! I wish I could seen this before I $75 on a used one that I think is no good... That...- R8rPhan
