Loss of e-brake after driving on rough roads

Something is still wrong. The e-brake could barely hold the Burb in drive and I had to floor it, never had to engage it that hard before. Adjusting it further made it even stiffer. I found an old video that I recorded and I see that the adjustment nut was almost all the way out before, so...

Whats you gas mileage on your squarebody truck?

Once again I hit 17 MPG (13.9 L/100 km) on a trip, not that terrible for the size of that thing. Mostly rural highways, some expressways, some country roads, even some dirt and cobblesone roads because why not in a 4x4 Burb :)

Loss of e-brake after driving on rough roads

I found out that my cable adjustment nut (6) was all the way out... I have no other idea that it has simply vibrated loose on the roads that felt like driving on cobblestone (some of them were probably cobblestone with a thin layer of weathered asphalt)

Loss of e-brake after driving on rough roads

My system looks different, it goes from e-brake pedal downwards and turns back along left frame rail. Thank you for the idea, just looked at the LMC Truck page and they have a schematic that sort of looks like my assembly...

Loss of e-brake after driving on rough roads

Hi, After a drive through beautiful, but very uneven roads of our Mazury lake District I lost my e-brake. At one moment along various other squeaks and rattles I believe I've heard something bounce under the car, like a rock or a bolt, later on when parked I had zero parking brake. There is...

    Diesel heater installation

No diesel fumes, however there is a little bit of a smell, like burnt rubber on highest setting, it slowly went away after couple of hours of test run. I suspect a gasket that goes between body and bottom of the unit or some residues burning or vaporizing from manufacturing process. Carbon...

    Diesel heater installation

That's how it looks in 2nd row without the heat pipe attached: And in "I'm definitely not sleeping in a trunk" mode: (there is a block of wood under the seat to avoid crushing of the pipe) On the outside: And a tank under the hood: Fuel line from the tank goes down, together with metal...

    Diesel heater installation

Diesel heater installed & operational. I've installed it under front bench seat: Rust protected holes: Final look, carpet is tucked away & stitched to keep it away from the body of the heater so it doesn't touch it anywhere. Even if the heater is made of plastic and is not crazy hot to...

Proportioning valve vs. load sensing valve

I recommend against removing it. It may change a hard braking into a potential head on collision before you have time to react. From past experience with CRX I recall that removing proportioning valve was an easy "fix" to get the rear brakes to work more and to pass annual tech inspection with...

Fix Slamming Doors - Striker Door Latch Repair

Sounds like a similar issue to mine: I've replaced door strikers after no success with a PEX pipe (couldn't find a right size pipe in Europe), but they still closed hard. I've readjusted strikers so they close soft but now doors does not sit flush when closed, especially in bottom edge I have...

Adding a headrest to a bench seat

I'm currently using an addon headrest like I've shown above and I'm looking to move to actual integrated headrests, possibly swapping a whole bench seat if I find one in color. I never seen GMT400 front bench in person, they seem quite low back. Can somebody advise if the headrest is on actual...

    Diesel heater installation

CO detector is a must with these heaters. Also they need an inspection before installation, I've seen loose glow plugs in models submitted to YouTubers by manufacture for review, faulty castings, damaged gaskets. The muffler is a complete joke, it has massive gaps near the outlets and even the...

    Diesel heater installation

That would mean that exhaust pipe, inlet and a diesel fuel line would hang from the side of the sheetmetal panel. I don't want to lose my window either :) Those HCalory / Vevor heaters all seem almost identical, they are copies of some Webasto or Eberspacher. I was considering that option, but...

    Diesel heater installation

The heater has arrived and I found out that it will fit under the front bench seat - There is like a depression in floor on both sides of the driveshaft tunnel that is large enough to make it fit. This will allow me to install it the way it is intended: With that oval mounting plate bolted to...
