1 of the benefits of the vacuum advance is allowing the engine to run cooler at low rpms.
That said, if the fans are too low in flow or un-shrouded, that's a big problem. Heat riser function is also a good recommendation.

It looks as if it's going through the firewall. If you had cruise control on that truck at one time, it could be the cruise control vacuum break that went to the brake pedal valve. Without having vacuum operated AC controls, the only other reason for a vacuum line that size to run inside your...
I'm of the mindset that the engineers put it there for a reason so you should leave it in place.
C30 needs torque, not high end air flow. IMHO.
If you don't want to live with it, you may try to sell it as is.
I’m posting here because I can’t seem to find a thread discussing radiator hose solutions when using a diesel radiator with a 5.7 swap. I just want to hear of some solutions members have used to address this problem. I’m swapping a ’94 5.7 into my ’84 Jimmy. If a thread does exist, I apologize...
AuroraGirl:
Would you send me the thickness of the valve housing?
My 1994 5.7 doesn't use crossover so I don't need a functioning valve, I just need one that's the correct thickness to make my new y-pipe bolt up correctly.
If the Valve that you have is thinner than the adapter I have...
Craig85: thanks for taking the time to get back to me. Much appreciated.
80brownK10: I have the correct manifolds for my year. I have a "Valve Delete" but it's very thick so the studs won't work. I have 3-1/4" studs but They're no quite long enough. It seems the OEM one is thinner.
I looked at a set of exhaust manifolds pulled from a 1995 k1500. They were in good shape and I would have bought them except they were exactly what I have. Same bolt spacing, same pipe size.
The seller was adamant that these manifolds are standard issue (14093658) GM "factory bock huggers" and...
The engine slipped right in just as you would expect. And the pipes are in line with the manifolds.
Engine mounts were completely different though. The through holes on the van mounts were wider, which goes to the point you made about frame rails.
I'm in the process of replacing my 84 6.2l with a 1994 G20 5.7l TBI engine. The engine has less than 70k miles and is in great mechanical condition.
The problem I'm having is trying to connect the 84 diesel Y-Pipe to the 94 exhaust manifolds.
When I performed this conversion before, the...
