I’ve spoken with Howard’s again and I’m going with their Rattler cam. I may a sacrifice a little power to get that sound I’m after. But for what I’ve heard and read it’s a pretty sweet cam overall. Thanks for everyone’s input.

I have a new tach that I’m hoping to get out in, today or very soon. I have the Th350 as well. I looked at some gear vs rpm charts and calculators. I wanted to stay close to 2500 as possible. I have 3.42 gears. Not 4.10.

I’m definitely going with a higher stall converter. I just installed the new 3.42 gears with a Yukon limited slip. This truck will be 95% Street. Maybe a test n tune once or twice a year.

Appreciate the advice! My th350 is turning pretty good at highway speeds. Didn’t wanna go with a 3.73 or higher due to this reason.

I know. This is my first hot rod and I’m 41. I have always wanted a mean sounding idle. It’s tough to let that go. A good lope is fine with me. From the videos I’ve seen with these cams, they all have a decent lope to them.

A local machine shop is doing the build. I’m just picking the camshaft.

Looking to get a cam for my 355 that’s waiting in line at the machine shop to be built. Going into a pretty much stock 84 C10. Th350. 3.42 posi rear. The engine will have stock bottom end. Pro-Filer aluminum heads. About 10:1 compression. I have called and spoke with Lunati, Howard’s and Isky...
A different bracket
I know this is a old thread, but I am fixing to do the same with my 84. I have the AC bracket off that needs to be cut. But there is still a bracket that is held on by the first manifold bolt. It was under the ac bracket. How does that come off. I cant see what it is bolted...
