Start digging around or buy a complete harness???

He's about the only plug in solution. Mike echoes my experience with AAW and Painless. The "universal" harenesses are anything but painless. If you don't have significant experience don't expect to put one of these in and have it any better than the original no matter how chopped up the...

Start digging around or buy a complete harness???

The bulkhead plug is Packard 56 & Packard 59 terminals. If one of them or even several are giving you fits extract and replace them. There's some kind of cosmoline or other gooey protectant in that plug that you want to make sure you keep in place.

Start digging around or buy a complete harness???

If you do any automotive or motorsports electrical work you do not have to buy the expensive crimp tools that crimp the pins for one connector family only in one operation. That type of tool is real nice but it's usually super expensive and not very versatile. Delphi made two exceedingly...

Start digging around or buy a complete harness???

Wiring is oogie boogie spaghetti OOOH Scary til you think about it in a calm rational manner... It's not spaghetti and it's not scary. Hopefully this will begin to demystify this. The first rule of repairing wiring is to break it up into bite size chunks and fix what's broken. GM made these...

Are the cabs, fenders swappable between a 1975 and 1980?

There were some gotchas between 73 & 80. 73, & IIRC 74, used a smaller bulkhead electrical plug. 78-80 used a different wiper switch and wiper motor than the earlier rigs.

Eliminating one fuel tank... looking fir a how too.

Unplug the switch and cap the LH fuel lines. You can reverse it if you or the next owner wants it back.

    Dash controls for delay wipers?

You can probably wire the 78-83 switch to mate with the later delay module but I don't know what kind of response it'll give you. The 84-91 switch has two wires creating a loop from the controller through the delay stepped resistance circuit then wires for ground, hi, lo, and off. The 78-83...

    Dash controls for delay wipers?

You need that switch and a delay module.

    Cargo Light Bolts

Shoulder bolts... or in this case shoulder machine screws. Those have that odd dull gray look like stainless with a shoulder machined slightly proud of the threads. You could check McMaster Carr for odd fasteners. They carry all kinds of special bolts like the Serrated Flange Head nuts and...

    Whatizit-wiring edition

If that's the ESC power wire it'll route through a firewall grommet to the ESC controller along with the Knock sensor wire and the wires from the Weatherpak ESC connector from the distributor. There are a couple other wires as well. If you buzz it out it'll be a pink wire in Terminal F on the...

    1984 Suburban 6.2L diesel surging

The Stanadyne 80 box filter is on the firewall. You can use the round cartridge GM 10226035 Stanadyne Fuel Manager that sits in the rear intake valley on the 1992 & later 6.5L on the earlier 6.2L diesels. The only gotcha is finding or fabbing a mounting bracket. It's heated and has the same...

    Extra Bulkhead ?

That's something a previous owner installed... They did a nice job. Usually people aren't as diligent about removing things inside the cab. Where are the wires on the interior side of that bulkhead plug routed? NL2 dual tanks would be a round rubber overmolded four position connector/grommet...

    Sears Lathe

Scott Logan is still selling parts for these machines. Look him up on the Practical Machinist boards. He was at the last NAMES exposition I went to in SouthGate Michigan several years ago.
