    Looks like you need to take the current brackets off the pump and remove the stud on the back and use 3/8 bolts.

    I think, not 100% sure, you can put a rod and pump on it. I would question it having a lobe on the cam to run the pump.

    We added a tps from tci that hooks up like a tv cable to the carb. Got a timing cover with the crank sensor provision and installed a single row timing chain. Everything else is still hooked up minus some of the engine (fuel) sensors. Changed fuel pump to tbi pump and run a bypass regulator.

    I used the tru-trac with the clutches in the ones I did. Both were 10 bolt. I'm really pleased with the way they work.

    I see he was wrong about the factory shims. I've done two of these rear ends and used the factory shims on both and had a lot better looking gear pattern than that.

    My son and I recently did just the opposite of what you are trying to do. Removed 5.7 vortec and replaced it with a carb'd 355. It is a 97 tahoe. We used the original trans, 4l60e.
