I've got a JVC headunit that was only like $140 or something but it's class D internal amplifier and it will kick ass by it's self!
I've got that running some vintage alpine 6x9's in back and 5" up front.
I also added a sony amp and a pioneer subwoofer in a computer calculated box

Hey everyone, I've got a 305 that I built about 2000 miles ago that I'm trying to figure out what I think is a cam timing problem
it's standard bore 9.5:1 compression 187 casting heads TBI
(soon to be crossfire as soon as I get this figured out)
I put the comp cams 12-304-4 which is...
port vacuum is for racing applications or when you don't have centrifugal advance. for a street application where you also have centrifugal advance you need to use manifold vacuum. you'll get much better performance and fuel mileage.
this is totally an opinion thing so don't everyone go...
ok, it definitely sounds like something is funny with that tach. in the mean time you could just keep an eye out for one like Tony's. internet, junkyard or something. it seems like it would be a direct fit, but has the newer circuit board that we know how to fix! haha
always more complicated...
I almost wonder if someone stuck the wrong gauge on this board.
mine would stay anywhere you put it. but it would shoot right to 0 when you hooked power up to it.
yours does seem to have another resistor chip and a bunch of transistors that mine didn't have.
I'll keep researching this, it...
the way these tachs work with the sine and cosine coils, it will seek a home position no matter where it was.

give me some constructive criticism here and I...
ok, here's why your board is different from tony's and mine. your board has traces on the top and bottom. that's why it seems like nothing connects on the bottom.
it looks like the two sets of pins that are solder bridged are supposed to be that way.
can you put up some pictures of the top of...
the number on that chip is the GM special part number that they had the manufacturer put on the LM181's for them

I am also refining the website as a...
