I would agree, something is screwed up. This almost certainly has to do with the isolator install. As I said in original post, I have a second suburban with the same isolator. I will go thru its connections and see if there is something different than the configuration that I did using the...
No, If I unplug the trigger lead, the lights still do not work without the key on but the engine has no spark. This is a new isolator purchased thru Waytek. I will go back thru the installation process. I did this 6 weeks ago and dont recall every detail. I do have another suburban with this...
Recently installed a new Isolator and a second battery and now have an issue with no headlights, parking lights or interior lights with the key off.
The second battery is located in the back of the suburban and runs a 12 volt air compressor and a boat trailer winch. After this install, the...
Thanks, I will go after the IAC. This did happen after I changed out a failed kick down relay. I had taken it out on the highway and put it thru the paces a couple of times checking out the kick down function. Maybe I blew the carbon loose in the IAC ?
Thanks, I actually changed out the CTS asI had a problem previously involving it. I would agree that the colder the weather the higher the idle seemed to be. I will check the voltage of the CTS. This situation happened overnight, so it is my belief that it is a particular component, possibly a...
1990 350 TBI in V2500 Suburban. Recently it stopped the high idle on startup. This took place from one evening to the following morning. Makes me believe that this is a component failure ? It will start with just a touch of foot on the pedal and hold adequate idle until it warms up. Once warm it...
Thanks
Rock Auto shows a kickdown relay as well as the internal solenoid. The relay possibly gets a signal thru the ECM from the TPS ?
I will head down this rabbit trail.
I have a 1990 V2500 Suburban with the TH 400 transmission. The kick down has stopped working. Not being familiar with the TBI setup, I am wondering where to start. I do know that there is a component internal to the transmission the has an electrical plug that is intact. There must be a switch...
I have a 1990 V2500 suburban, manual transmission, 241c transfer case. The transfer case has an approximately 3/8" diameter vent hose off the top right hand side that runs forward and was terminated near the right exhaust manifold It looks as thought this hose may have continued on at one point...
No apparent leaks at the TBI base or in the vacuum lines. Did the relearn procedure and things are much better. It also seems it could be coolant temp related. After a longer consistent drive it seems to idle down and remain steady and with short trips it has more of a tendency to hunt around...
1990 Suburban manual transmission 5.7 TBI. Runs good but after warmup at idle it surges probably 300-500 rpm. only annoying at this point but am concerned as to where this is going. It is not consistent in that sometimes it is worse than at others. No Codes. I am thinking possibly the Idle Air...
Update
More than a year has went by and I finally pinpointed and repaired the problem. The ECM B fuse popping was a very random pattern sometimes related to hitting a hard bump and sometimes not. 2 weeks ago we had a significant snow event and the problem went from intermittent to regular. This...
I am about to do the same thing. The manual I have talks about regulator adjustment. Obviously you replaced the regulator internals. Is there any regulator adjustment ? Di you replace the injectors ?
Agreed, they likely do filter better, but at the cost of transmission damage in the long term. I have put the screened filter in and the noise is gone. Pan is extremely clean with a good magnet. After 3 changes of about 5.5 quarts each time within 500 miles the fluid is very clean as well.
