I was able to get a pic of the identification tab. What puzzles me is that the letter that would designate what factory it was built in, looks closer to an "O", though it should be a "C". Take a look at the pic and you tell me ...- AKHandyman

Time to revive this thread. I've gotten through a few winters and summers with Ole Brown. Now, the transmission has taken a dump (somewhat) and I need some help. I believe the transmission is a 700R4, but haven't confirmed it yet. It no longer drives in Drive, but I can get going in 2nd and...- AKHandyman

BTW, boys ... if any of you were wondering (and I bet all have lost sleep over this) I was able to get the problem fixed. It was loose butt connectors with the wiring down by the starter. Since then, I replaced all the wiring and new starter cables and battery cables. Ole Brown is running...- AKHandyman

Wow you guys are awesome! I have the wires pulled apart from the wire loom and just looking at the firewall fuse box, it's disgusting!! What's with all the sticky crud? ( I guess waterproofing, huh?) I've had the starter in the truck and the wiring connected ... still nothing ... no solenoid click, but lights and radio work. However, I'm beginning to think that it could be wiring in the fuse box or ignition switch :bawl: I don't see the red emergency brake light or fasten seat belt light...- AKHandyman

The battery is definitely good. So is the starter and solenoid. Both been checked out at our local NAPA store. I'm just to go out in the snow to check the wiring but I believe at least the wiring from battery, ignition terminal switch from solenoid and ground are all good. Remember my little...- AKHandyman
