Okay...I got this 1993 700r4 in my 1981 C10. I hooked up everything right. I am using a TBI TV cable instead of a carb TV cable. I am also using a vacuum switch from a 1985 Suburban and it's wired up correctly.

First and second are fine...Shift into third and it just revs up barely moving. WTF? This is SAME **** that the T400 did! I shift it back into second and it goes fine.

I don't have the speedometer hooked up yet.

Do I need to go get the carb TV cable?

Nah, wait for some of the trans guys to respond bro, if it ran fine when you test drove it it should run fine now unless ya got swindled or something is not hooked up right. Shame there aint a way you could have marked it or something so you know it's the same tranny. I bet it's something simple, I hope.

Where is that wind bag, trans guru HRPC when ya need him, lolz.....

What about the shifter, did ya switch in the OD shifter on the column?

When you swapped the Transmission did you change the filter and fluid? or even just the fluid for that matter? It would apear it is a high mileage Transmission, and the older fluid that was broken down or additives installed has been changed and the problem was most likely there when you test drove it just disgused.

Dont get discouraged even if you need a rebuild, you are HIGHLY capabale of doing it yourself, along with HR and I if there is any problems you will be covered?

Fluid was clean, the trans had been rebuilt before the engine spun a bearing. And yes, I did change the filter as well as putting in synthetic fluid.

Just for the fugg of it. Unplug the 4 wire connector and go for a drive. All that should control is lock up, but lock up can affect the 3-4 valve. Still no results, try backing off the TV cable. Let Us know.

Ohhhh and synthetic fluid??? If the 3-4 clutch pack seals are the least bit dried or have been previously overheated, that fluid just might be to thin. If you're 100% certain its a good trans, and pulling the the 4 wire plug and letting off the TV cable don't work, then I'd think the synthetic fluid might be the issue. And if the syn fluid is the issue, then that tells you, the trans is ailing and that 3-4 pack hasn't got much life left.

What synthetic did you use? Did you install the TV cable before or after the trans was in. I know you have probably checked, but are you sure the TV cable is still connected down at the trans?

Doesnt he need to shorten the cable? More line pressure may help blow some **** outta the system. If he backs it off any more than the intitial hand WOT setting that will burn it up for sure.
And if it was recently rebuilt, it may have already had a synthetic in it.
