Does anyone have a body manual for an 81-91 front clip removal and the bolt locations? I want to remove a front clip in its entirety, but all in one piece with exception of the hood.

No documentation but it'd be pretty easy I'd think  there's three or four bolts per side near the cab, unbolt from the inner fenders, unbolt from the core support and shizam front clip off...

4 fender bolts on each side at the cab... 1 on top, 1 in where the door hinges are, 1 in the fender well with a big washer on it, and 1 at the bottom of the fender at the rocker panel. Then you have the 2 radiator support mounts, unhook the wiring harness from the headlights, turn signals, marker lights and horns (I think that's all) then take the whole thing off with the fender wells attached. I'm pretty sure that's all there is to it. You might wanna take the battery out to make it lighter, but you'd probably have to do that anyway to get to the light harness.

X2 just don't forget to take the hood off first.

That's what I was looking for. The detailed info. It doesn't appear there are any hidden screws or bolts according to what he says. Its time for me to start stripping trucks again. I have a bed on 1 truck, the cab off another, and a front clip off another. In my consolidation of projects, I think I am going to be putting the 85C20 cab on the 85K10 frame. Since the VIN is for the 85C20, that's what it will be registered as but will be a 4x4. This is also the truck that I was going to convert to K20 anyway, so it must makes sense. And 85C20 will turn into an 85K20 on a 85K10 frame. In short, nothing more than converting a C20 to a K20. Simple enough huh??? The other good thing, this 85C20 that I've had for 2 years now, is titled in my name, and I just paid the $24 on the plate for a current tag.

I meant, really, does the hood have to be removed? :Sumo:

I though all the clips I saw on CL had the hood installed on the clip...... :flipthebird:

You could probably actually keep the hood on since the hinges attach to the inner fender. Not sure what it'd do to the hood, though, if the clip twists a little bit upon removal
