Yeah, I've got one. Was in my '87 silverado. It's going into my '84.

I don’t think I would ever chase one down. I spent 20+ years in the military working on radios. As long as I have a tuner I will build the rest.

I have an analog tuner thanks to ajdemello. Plan on tearing it apart and cleaning it up and mating it with an EQ and Cross.

I was just going through my RPO codes and was looking at what once was.

Seems rare that you’d find a working UM6 from 1986 these days.

Yeah, those are still around. It’s a Delco 2700 ETR. A lot of people have switched radios over the years so I don’t how many were equipped with it, but it was the top tier radio option through 1988 before they switched to the big 2000 ETR. Most of the squares I’ve seen that still have the factory radio have the 2700 with the big clunky preset buttons. I think more cars ended up getting this one, but still fewer overall than the non-ETR version so it’s rarer, and you’ll see that people want more for those than the regular 2700.

They seem to be a rare as white southern Democrats. Was just the original option on my truck. There’s no way I would pay three bills for a used possibly working 30+ year old radio. LOL

Does it all plug in the same to the 74 wires?

You have to reharness them. The pre-'77 radio plugins were very weird and not universal. You can buy a cheap little '77-'93 factory radio harness on eBay, and it's a piece of cake to do.

My truck is a 78 with the analog like that. I thought id ask since his is older and he put it in. If they direct plug to 78 id go looking for one
