As the title says....anybody got a clean one? Doesn't have to be perfect, but obviously no filler and minimal rust repair needed.

I am going to get rid of the box on my 78 after I rebuild the stepper. Not sure if it is the same as a 84, but I think it is. It has the usual rust above the wheel wells and a couple of small spots on the bed floor near the tailgate, but definatly restorable. I can take pics if you want.

I think the only difference might be round hole vs. square hole on gas tank covers. pictures would be great.

I'm not really trying to get rid of it right now, but could pull it if you are interested. I Won't be offended if you're not. I just started rebuilding my stepside box and was planning to swap them when I got the rest of the truck ready for paint.

Thanks for the pics. I'm not in a huge rush either so let me talk to my son. Yours is in a lot better shape than the one we have. Only difference is the fuel filler. New style is square with a door. I'm sure the box could be modified though.

79 and up should have the gas tank filler doors. Some will be both sides, and for the single tanks, I forget the year cut off now, but the single tank trucks in the later trucks, the single door would be on the left driver side, earlier single tank trucks I believe it to be on the passenger side. You can always cut the fuel door out of your old bed and tack weld it in and finish it before paint if needed both doors or the door on the other side.
