I think I might have found the kit I will use, narrowed it down to one of these:

1. Stay with a stock replacement.

You must be registered for see images

2. Heartthrob manifold back dual kit with dual converters, factory mufflers, mod the rear pipes to exit under rear bumper on each side of the receiver hitch with dual 3" x 18" chrome exhaust tips:

If you haven't already purchased elsewhere due to my absence, I will be glad to help you. If you don't hear from me, a PM will get me here in a hurry!

I did not purchase anything yet but will be in the next 6 weeks. Keeping stock Y-Pipe, adding new Walker cat, int pipe and muffler, and going to have a local shop build a muffler back dual rear under bumper exit with chrome tips.

How about this, having a real hard time finding this configuration.

A 3" offset in, dual 2 1/4" out muffler?

Right on, 3" single should be about right, if not a little big, using conventional wisdom. Going too big on true duals can be quite counterproductive so I agree with you there as well. Thanks!

Would 2" from manifold to muffler and then upsizing the muffler and tail pipe to 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 to exit be advantageous for a dual system?

I have always found that the near to stock motors work better with 2" for duals rather then going any bigger. I have been thinking if the muffler and tail pipe were over sized from the 2" that it should work well but I don't know. Any input would be greatly appreciated?
