Yes these options are available as listed above, and also the Auto Lockers like Detroit Locker, where it's locked up all the time, and breaks loose on turns IF needed. Would be a great option in snow. And as you mentioned, it will be a bit tougher to steer. Also with manual hubs, you would have the option to lock in 1 hub and have a 3 wheel drive. 2 in the rear, 1 in the front, and if you got in a pinch, jump out and lock in the other hub. Cheap, easy to istall lunchbox type lockers like Lock Right are also available, but not as durable as a Detroit Locker.
Limited slip is NOT a bad option, but keep in mind, you did say unstoppable. Limited slip is an open differential UNTIL it detects slipping then it locks in the other wheel.
Locker stays locked up and unlocks when it detects a strong bind on the axles like making a turn. Many times, that detection and unlocking is late and makes for noisy and uncomfy less than pefect steering, but will provide good traction.
Air or Cable actuated lockers, once activated by the user, they are locked solid and do not break away on turns at all. They are just like having a spool unless you shut them off. They are also quite pricey.
