Mirror quality question
I just bought new mirrors (not from AMD) for another project, and yes, they are Cr%p. One doesn't even hold its own weight and just flops. I will have to modify it.- justhorns

What have you done to your square lately??
I'll probably get it off and find out its the water pump, or PS pump.. But my big stick says alternator. Of course, it's underneath the others. $36 from rock auto. -

But, there are adjustments to make.. Timing, mixture, and someday I will replace the leaky water pump. This is a simple vehicle. There are less things to break and wear out. I hate new cars. -

It started with the speedometer. My needle wandered all over the face and jumped around. So, I removed the cable and lubed the inner. Then, there was nothing. It just sat at Zero. So, I disconnected the lower end, and made sure it was engaged, and it went back to wobble mode.. So, I bought a... -
Reverse light switch and wiring
Coolio, today I looked under the dash and saw the switch, with a blue and green wire. I pulled the plug off, and connected two wires (blue and green!) to the connector, ran them to a switch, with a ground, and installed it in the dash..When the blue light is on, the back up lights are on...- justhorns

Years ago, the previous owner removed the 3 on tree shifter from my 250/6 with Saginaw 3 speed, and replaced it with a hurst indy truck shifter. So, I have no backup lights. Where are the wires for the reverse light switch. I don't see any hanging wires by the tranny. I just want to install a...- justhorns

Brake switch removal
You may be looking at the ignition switch on top of the column, near the firewall. The brake switch is pressed by the brake pedal arm and is easily removable just by standing on your head like this: I thought this photo (From Hammers Garage on you tube) was hysterical. Speedo cable length for 81 c10 6 cylinder saginaw
The factory shop manual says you gotta reach up from behind to change bulbs in dash.. I can reach this lower left turn signal indicator, but cannot get it out. Others, I have no idea how to reach them.. -

I finally got a rubber pad on the parking brake pedal. Everybody wanted $5.99 for it, but only O'reillys had free shipping to the store. LMC wanted $24 for shipping it. Install was super easy. -

I fixed it. New cable.. The exact one I pulled out by part number on the cable, but new is 1 " longer and speedo is now working smoothly, for first time since I bought the truck. 3rd or 4th cable. Finally! A cup holder that doesn't take up space on my seat. From Oreilly, magnetic and a good magnet. Says it holds 8 lbs. Derek Beiry at VGG bought these for his mustang for a cross country trip. Works great. Part # PTT0051 -
Most affordable shipping for body panels?
It's 621 miles from here to Kansas City, and the same back. 1240 miles/14 mpg = 88 gallons, at $3/gal=$270 to drive there and back. AMD wants $800 for one way. It would be a nice road trip if it wasn't kansas and sunflower season- justhorns

Your rear end should be (2000/2734) * 3.73 = you need a 2.72:1 rear end for 70 mph at 2000 rpm. Look at tire circumference to refine this calculation.- justhorns

Its simple. For each 1 engine rotation, the driveshaft will turn 1/0.696=1.43 times The rear end lowers the rotation from 1.43 to .383 wheel rotations (1.43/3.73). So, multiply your 0.383 by the circumference of the tire 97.4" for a 31 (approximately, but go and measure your own with a tape...- justhorns

Well, I fixed it now. Pulled the inner cable out and lubed it with graphite spray.Put its back in and no more jumping. It doesn't move at all. Harumph. Measured it while it was out, 62". I do not know where I got 105". The cable slides out of one end or the other and nothing. I fix these...
