Top end or bottom end?
Not sure what it is - thats just a video I found online of a similar situation that turned out well for someone. I have a friend who's always been into these - has all the proprietary tools to go with it. He's coming over Sunday and we're going to try to narrow down at least where the noise is...- Doppleganger

Plugs and wires (and coil) are all new. It started this racket about 2min after its second start. It ran just fine before - even with a bad HG. First start and 2 min of the second start it was smooth and very quiet. Even with this noise, the tach is solid and steady. No CE lights either. I cant...- Doppleganger

If it is a rod bearing, it was at idle for -maybe- 2 min total when it happened, so (hopefully) minimum damage if any. I know a guy who spun one under boost - he pulled the pan and replaced it in the car and it was fine til he sold it 3 yrs later. Going to pull the head on that side this weekend...- Doppleganger

I dont think the SOHC motors are interference - I know the DOHC ones are though. Idle is smooth and solid - just this banging. Only upside is its on the passenger side and that can be accessed much easier while still in the car.- Doppleganger

See what you guys make of this. Had a blown HG but car ran perfectly. Had heads rebuilt. Installed them and gave it a go. Started perfectly and idled smooth and incredibly quiet. Topped off the coolant and ATF. Had it running with heat on high to get the air out. After about 3 min a slight tick...- Doppleganger

Figured I'd add this here to keep it all together. Wrapped up (for now) the Benz tire carrier. Was trying to figure a way to secure the cage and this was the closest/quickest I could find. Will probably revisit the whole thing later when the bed and bumper is on but it work for now. Found...- Doppleganger

Unidentified Laying Objects
Found these in a box with all the 'old' parts but not sure if they were off my SB or maybe something I pulled off the replacement radiator support or something like that. I dont toss anything if its usable, needs to be refurbed or once its replacement is installed. TIA- Doppleganger

I hate the power window and door lock switches
Mounting something better would be interesting as the odd ergonomics of the factory door panel matches everything else in the cab when it comes to changing or upgrading. I'd like to find something lighted....if possible.- Doppleganger

What have you done to your square lately??
Wrapped up (for now) the Benz tire carrier. Was trying to figure a way to secure the cage and this was the closest/quickest I could find. Magnesium chloride is the new preferred rust accelerator.....they say its will rot steel 4x faster than salt. My buddy's son is a Ford tech in Pittsburgh, one of the first places for mag-chloride. Finding Serpentine Belt Lengths
So I find what I believe is the perfect size. Was exactly the length I measured and fit well. Only oddity it was a cheap house brand from OReillys. I order an AC Dilbert gold belt in the same size only to find out they run differently. Fits well but has too much give IMO. Barely pushing I can...- Doppleganger
